In another embodiment, the user is presented with a delete all transferred images which when selected deletes all the captured images that have already been transferred. Data extraction and automatic validation from digitized documents in non-editable formats is disclosed. Paper documents are digitized or converted into formats suitable for storage on computers or other digital devices. The digitized documents are classified into one of a plurality of document types and based on the document type, document processing rules are selected for analyzing the digitized documents to enable data extraction and automatic validation. The positions and values of the data fields in the digitized documents are obtained using machine learning techniques. The data field values are automatically validated and assigned confidence scores. Data fields with low confidence scores are flagged for manual review.

An image processing apparatus includes a memory, and a processor in communication with the memory, the processor configured to control a storage unit configured to associate and store a document and a thumbnail image of a top page of the document, a deletion unit configured to delete a page designated from among pages of the document stored in the storage unit, and a generation unit configured to, in a case where a page to be deleted by the deletion unit is a top page of the document, generate a thumbnail image based on the top page of the document after deletion.
