20210245030 · 2021-08-12 ·

A training device and methods of using the device are described to train athletes to reduce the incidence of certain types of injuries. The device and methods promote a reduction in knee vulgus and hip internal rotation during typical athletic movements such as jumping, landing, and lateral bounding. The device provides a guide element that serves as a reference line providing feedback to a user on their movements. A user may adjust their joint positions during the movements based upon self-monitoring or feedback from a trainer who observes the user executing movements while wearing the device. The guide element may provide feedback on knee positioning in two axes of movement.

A knee extension training device is provided with knee abutment rolls, heel abutment rolls and feet anchor rolls to facilitate a user from standing on the device in an upright manner with the knees, the heels, and the feet abutting the respective abutment rolls such that knee extension stretching and flexion exercise can be carried out by utilizing the user's own body weight.

Low friction rehabilitation board with an integral band retaining feature and methods of rehabilitation

A low friction rehabilitation board having an integral band retaining feature is described. The rehabilitation board may have a coefficient of static friction of no more than about 0.5 and in some embodiments no more than about 0.06. The rehabilitation board has a plurality of band retaining feature configured along one or both ends and may be an integral band retaining features being formed in the board. Additionally, the rehabilitation may include one or more band retaining features on one or both sides of the board. The unique configuration of the band retaining features enables rehabilitation method heretofore not possible with a single board. Resistance bands may be retained in the band retaining features and coupled to a user's limb, such as a foot or ankle, to resist motion, such as sliding or extending the foot along the low friction surface of the rehabilitation board.

Systems for dynamic resistance training

Systems and methods for dynamic resistance training are provided that include the use of a dynamic force module. The dynamic force module includes an actuator and controller adapted to control the actuator according to a force profile that specifies the relationship between an operational parameter of the actuator and a measured parameter associated with a user performing an exercise. The dynamic force module is also capable of communicating with a broader network system to facilitate storing and distribution of force profiles and user profile information. The network system further includes features for, among other things, generating and managing force profiles, uploading multimedia content, and tracking user progress.

Methods for inducing full knee flexion

A method for inducing knee flexion is described that includes securing a knee rehabilitation device to a leg, the rehabilitation device includes a frame with a handle on a proximal end, a pad piece on a distal end, and a strap between the proximal end and the distal end. The method further includes positioning the knee rehabilitation device on the person's leg such that the handle is above a knee on the leg, the pad piece is on an ankle of the leg, and the strap is located behind the person's leg between the knee and ankle. A first force is then applied to the handle in a first direction. The pad piece is actuated in response to the first force to move in a second direction which applies a second force to the ankle of the leg in a direction to cause flexion of the knee.

A rehabilitation system according to an embodiment of the present invention includes a wearable device for measuring rehabilitation exercise information of a user and a user electronic device receiving the rehabilitation exercise information from the wearable device and driving an avatar training program. The user electronic device may receive the avatar training program recommended based on user personal information and the rehabilitation exercise information from a rehabilitation program recommendation server. According to the present invention, a rehabilitation effect can be enhanced by performing a rehabilitation exercise according to a rehabilitation program suitable for a user using a wearable device and a user electronic device.

Systems, devices, and methods including a spinal resistance assembly

Systems, devices, and methods are described for providing, among other things, a neck and spine strengthening device. The strengthening device includes a spinal resistance assembly configured to apply a resist force or to resist rotation about at least a first axis, and a head affixing assembly configured to secure to a head of a user during use. The strengthening device is instrumented with sensors and an embedded computing system configured to securely exchange exercise performance and configuration data with local client devices, and to monitor and record exercise activity and exercise performance data.

An orthopedic brace for supporting a shoulder and an arm of a patient can comprise a sleeve, a pad, a pillow, and a system of adjustable straps for positioning and securing the sleeve in a desired position for treatment. The pad can comprise a plurality of pockets for accepting hot or cold compresses therein for providing thermal therapy, and can be removable from the brace to be used in isolation along other parts of the body. The adjustable straps can be replaced with tensile straps, and the sleeve can be positioned along different points of the patient's body to allow the patient to conduct various patient driven exercises, including patient driven range of motion or strengthening exercises.

IDEAL TARGET WEIGHT TRAINING RECOMMENDATION SYSTEM AND METHOD
20210121740 · 2021-04-29 ·

An ideal target weight training recommendation method ascertains a user's ideal target weight with a user-data algorithm that is operable to approximate an available weight value for a user to utilize for a given target weight training recommendation in addition to generating a rate in which a user's muscle fatigues. To do so, the user generates initial completed repetitions until the muscles fatigue. A baseline strength value is calculated with the initial completed repetitions and a baseline strength coefficient. A baseline strength value is created and used in calculating ideal target weight values. A y-intercept approximate functions involving user-selected desired target repetition values. The user manipulates a resistance structure associated with the ideal target weight values and said values are rounded to the nearest whole number. The user-selected desired target repetition values generate a second completed repetition values for subsequent sets for adjustment of a strength curve.

Brace with a variable resistance band system

A brace assists a user in regaining muscle mass during the back to work phase of joint injury recovery. The brace uses a resistance band that is attached to the upper arm and the lower arm of the brace. Proximate the arms' juncture point, a pair of gears is attached, one gear per arm with a gap between the gears. The gears rotate in lockstep with their respective arm. A variation piece has two sets of teeth, each set gearably mating with one of the gears so that rotation of the gears causes the variation piece to linearly extend and counter-rotation causes the variation piece to retract. A medial portion of the band is received by the variation piece so that as variation piece extends, it places additional tension on the band, which tension placement is reduced with variation piece retraction.
