HEARING PROSTHESIS SYSTEM HAVING INTERCHANGEABLE HOUSINGS
There is disclosed a hearing prosthesis comprising a first housing containing a primary signal processor that receives signals output by a microphone; and a second housing removably connectable to the first housing; wherein a user interface is provided on the second housing that provides control of one or more features of the operation of the primary signal processor.
Speech Processor Cases
Apparatus and methods for converting one type of speech processor unit into another type of speech processor unit.
Removable attachment of a passive transcutaneous bone conduction device with limited skin deformation
An external component including a vibratory portion configured to vibrate in response to a sound signal to evoke a hearing percept via bone conduction and including a coupling portion configured to removably attach the external component to an outer surface of skin of a recipient of the hearing prosthesis while imparting deformation to the skin of the recipient at a location of the attachment, in a one-gravity environment, of an amount that is about equal to or equal to that which results from the external component having mass.
Electronic Hearing Protector With Switchable Electrical Contacts
The present application relates to a battery-powered electronic device, such as an electronic hearing protector, with switchable electrical contacts. The device includes a housing enclosing the battery and an electronics assembly. The electronics assembly is powered by the battery, and the electronics assembly comprises a processor controlled by updatable software. The device further includes a first electrical contact that is a ground line; a second electrical contact that is a data programming line in a first state, and that is a charging voltage line in a second state; and a third electrical contact that is a clock line in a first state, and that is a charge enable line in the second state. The first, second and third electrical contacts are accessible from outside the housing. A switch enclosed by the housing changes the second electrical contact between the first state and the second state.
Hearing device comprising a sensor configuration detector
A hearing device, e.g. a hearing aid, comprises first and second hearing device parts having separate first and second housings and being electrically connectable by a connecting element. The second hearing device part is available in a multitude of variants. The connecting element comprises an electric cable comprising a multitude of electric conductors, and a first electric connector comprising a multitude of first electric termination elements. The second hearing device part comprises a loudspeaker, and/or a number of sensors each providing an electric sensor signal representative of a current property of the environment of the hearing device and/or a current state of the user wearing the hearing device. The first hearing device part comprises a configuration extractor electrically connected to said second hearing device part via said connecting element and adapted to identify a current configuration of sensors in said second hearing device part.
Acoustic receiver-in-canal ear tip
An ear tip for a hearing device includes a body member having a receiver retention portion that is communicably coupled to a sound port. The receiver retention portion is configured to receive and capture a receiver such as a balanced armature receiver. An electrical interface of the receiver is accessible via an opening in the receiver retention portion. The ear tip also includes an ear interface portion that is disposed at least partially about the body member. The ear interface portion is configured to be disposed in a user's ear canal. The ear interface portion and the body member are integrally formed as a unitary member.
ACOUSTIC OUTPUT DEVICE WITH ANTENNA
A hearing device is provided. The hearing device comprises a first portion configured to be arranged at a head of a user and to provide a signal to a second portion.
COCHLEAR IMPLANT SYSTEM WITH MEASUREMENT UNIT
A cochlear implant system is disclosed. The system includes an external unit configured to receive acoustical sound and process the acoustical sound into a coded audio signal, and an implantable unit configured to receive the coded audio signal. The system further comprises a pulse generating unit configured to generate a first electrical pulse of a first pulse duration and a second electrical pulse of a second pulse duration different from the first pulse duration based on the coded audio signal. The system still further comprises an electrode array including a plurality of electrodes, wherein at least one of the plurality of electrodes is configured to receive at least the first electrical pulse and the second electrical pulse, and a capacitor connected to the at least one of the plurality of electrodes. The system still further comprises a measurement unit configured to measure, across the connection of the at least one of the plurality of electrodes and the capacitor, a first voltage based on the first electrical pulse and a second voltage based on the second electrical pulse. The system still further comprises an evaluation unit configured to calculate a voltage difference between the measured first and second voltages.
METHOD FOR TRANSMITTING A HEARING AID SETTING DATA SET FROM A FIRST HEARING AID TO A SECOND HEARING AID, HEARING AID SYSTEM, AND HEARING AID
A method transmits a hearing aid setting data set from a first hearing aid to a second hearing aid. By use of an Internet-capable third device, a translation instruction for translating hearing aid setting data contained in the hearing aid setting data set from a platform of the first hearing aid to a platform of the second hearing aid is retrieved from a database. The translation instruction is transmitted to the first or the second hearing aid or to a local fourth device. By the Internet-capable third device, an instruction for transmitting the hearing aid setting data set is output and the hearing aid setting data set is transmitted locally and while bypassing the Internet or a computer network from the first to the second hearing aid. The hearing aid setting data contained in the hearing aid setting data set are translated in the first or the second hearing aid or in the fourth device without access to the Internet or the computer network to the platform of the second hearing aid.
In-ear wireless listening device
An apparatus for charging a portable wireless listening device including a housing having a socket to receive the portable wireless listening device; a battery; wireless circuitry that enables the apparatus to communicate wirelessly with a host device; power transmitting circuitry configured to provide power to the portable wireless listening device when the device is received in the socket to charge a battery within the portable wireless listening device; and a processor configured to configured to establish a wireless communication protocol between the portable wireless listening device and the host device.
