ACOUSTIC ADAPTER FOR A LOUDSPEAKER DRIVER
20220345809 · 2022-10-27 · ·

Provided in this disclosure is an acoustic adapter which includes an interior enclosure for substantially surrounding a back of a speaker driver and for defining a predetermined three-dimensional interior volume (3DV1) around the back of the speaker driver to thereby act as a vibration dampener. An exterior enclosure is provided having a configuration that corresponds to a configuration of the interior enclosure and spaced apart from the interior enclosure to define a restricted two-dimensional volume (2DV) outside the three-dimensional interior volume. An aperture is formed in the interior surface of the enclosure for admitting sound into the two-dimensional volume. A foam material is received within the two-dimensional volume (2DV) for at least coating an inner surface of the exterior enclosure, to provide a frictional surface for damping the sound admitted into the two-dimensional volume.

MULTIPLE SOUND SOURCE ENCODING IN HEARING PROSTHESES
20230082528 · 2023-03-16 ·

Presented herein are techniques for enhancing a hearing prosthesis recipient's perception of multiple frequencies present in received sound signals. The hearing prosthesis is configured to extract a plurality of frequencies from the received sound signals and to use the plurality of frequencies to modulate the amplitudes of different stimulation pulse sequences that are to be delivered to the recipient via different stimulation channels. The hearing prosthesis may also adapt a stimulation resolution of the stimulation pulse sequences when delivering the modulated stimulation pulses sequences to the recipient.

Concept for attaching a sound processor to the head via an interchangeable magnet

A hearing aid for placement on the head. The hearing aid includes a first part comprising an acoustic input transducer adapted to convert an ambient sound picked up at an ear of the user to an electric signal, a signal processor adapted to process the electric signal according to specifications of the user into a processed electric signal, and an output transducer adapted to convert the processed electric signal into a transmission signal, and a second part linkable to said first part by magnetic forces and comprising a receiver adapted to receive the transmission signal and convert the transmission signal to an output signal perceivable as sound by the user. Said first part comprises a receptacle adapted to receive an insert element, said insert element comprising protrusions configured for engaging with a recess of said first part by rotating the insert element relative to said first part.

HEARING ASSISTANCE DEVICES WITH CONTROL OF OTHER DEVICES

Embodiments herein relate to hearing assistance devices that can control other devices based on hearing assistance device events and/or status. In an embodiment, a hearing assistance system includes a hearing assistance device that can include a control circuit, a microphone in electrical communication with the control circuit, an electroacoustic transducer for generating sound in electrical communication with the control circuit, and a power supply circuit. The hearing assistance device can be configured to initiate sending a hearing accommodative command to a separate controllable device upon occurrence of a hearing assistance device event. The hearing assistance device event can be raised by detection of at least one of the hearing assistance device not being worn by the subject, the hearing assistance device in a not-in-use operating state, the hearing assistance device entering a recharging mode, and the hearing assistance device entering a shut-down sequence. Other embodiments are also included herein.

HEARING ASSISTANCE DEVICES AND METHODS OF GENERATING A RESONANCE WITHIN A HEARING ASSISTANCE DEVICE
20230076171 · 2023-03-09 · ·

The present disclosure provides hearing assistance devices and methods of generating a resonance within hearing assistance devices that use moving coil drivers, e.g., electro-dynamic coil drivers. As small moving coil drivers are typically inefficient within the voice band of frequencies, e.g., above 1 kHz, the hearing assistance devices described herein utilize the resonance of a mass within the hearing assistance device and a compliance of air within the housing of the hearing assistance device or within portions of the acoustic driver housing to aid in amplification of select frequencies within the voice band of human speech, e.g., between 2.5 kHz and 6 kHz. By using the assistance of the resonance created, the moving coil driver utilized does not need to operate as efficiently within the range of resonance frequencies.
