Methods and systems for audio signal filtering
Systems and methods for rendering audio signals are disclosed. In some embodiments, a method may receive an input signal including a first portion and the second portion. A first processing stage comprising a first filter is applied to the first portion to generate a first filtered signal. A second processing stage comprising a second filter is applied to the first portion to generate a second filtered signal. A third processing stage comprising a third filter is applied to the second portion to generate a third filtered signal. A fourth processing stage comprising a fourth filter is applied to the second portion to generate a fourth filtered signal. A first output signal is determined based on a sum of the first filtered signal and the third filtered signal. A second output signal is determined based on a sum of the second filtered signal and the fourth filtered signal. The first output signal is presented to a first ear of a user of a virtual environment, and the second output signal is presented to the second ear of the user. The first portion of the input signal corresponds to a first location in the virtual environment, and the second portion of the input signal corresponds to a second location in the virtual environment.
Audio data transmission method applied to switching between single-earbud mode and double-earbud mode of TWS headset and device
An audio data transmission method. An electronic device transmits audio data to a first earbud of a TWS headset by using a first CIS of a first CIG, and transmits audio data to a second earbud of the TWS headset by using a second CIS of the first CIG. The electronic device determines that the TWS headset is switched from a double-earbud mode (namely, a mode in which the first earbud and the second earbud are used together as audio input/output devices of the electronic device) to a first single-earbud mode (namely, a mode in which the first earbud is independently used as an audio input/output device of the electronic device). In response to the determining, the electronic device deactivates the second CIS, stops transmitting audio data to the second earbud by using the second CIS, and continues transmitting audio data to the first earbud by using the first CIS.
Gaming headset with programmable audio paths
A headset having game, chat and microphone audio signals is provided with a programmable signal processor for individually modifying the audio signals and a memory configured to store a plurality of user-selectable signal-processing parameter settings that determine the manner in which the audio signals will be altered by the signal processor. The parameter settings collectively form a preset, and one or more user-operable controls can select and activate a preset from the plurality of presets stored in memory. The parameters stored in the selected preset can be loaded into the signal processor such that the sound characteristics of the audio paths are modified in accordance with the parameter settings in the selected preset.
Audio mixer and method of processing sound signal
An audio mixer includes a user interface, panners, a first adder, a localization device, a second adder, and an output circuit. The user interface supplies a first parameter and a second parameter for each channel based on a user operation. The first parameter indicates a position in a right-left direction. The second parameter specifies internalization or externalization. The panners respectively correspond to channels and, based on the first parameter, pan a sound signal corresponding to the each channel to generate first stereo signals. The first adder generates a second stereo signal by mixing first stereo signals respectively corresponding to externalization channels. The localization device generates two third stereo signals. The second adder generates a fourth stereo signal by mixing the two third stereo signals and first stereo signals respectively corresponding to internalization channels. The output circuit outputs the fourth stereo signal.
Fast binaural rendering apparatus and method for playing back of multiple audio sources
A method that generates binaural headphone playback signals given multiple audio source signals with an associated metadata and binaural room impulse response (BRIR) database, wherein the audio source signals are channel-based, object-based, or a mixture of both channel-based and object-based signals. The method includes parameterizing BRIR to be used for rendering, dividing each audio source signal to be rendered into a number of blocks and frames, and averaging the parameterized BRIR sequences. The method also includes downmixing the divided audio source signals using the diffuse blocks of BRIRs, and performing late reverberation processing on the downmixed version of the previous blocks of the audio source signals.
Headset and Method for Operating a Headset
A gaming unit and producing a game-audio output of a varying volume level and a chat-voice output is connected to headphones adapted to be worn by a player of the unit and connected to the gaming unit for making the chat-voice output and the game-audio output audible to the player. A circuit or software associated with the headphones can increase the chat-voice volume level generally proportionately to the game-audio volume level.
Hearing device providing virtual sound
Disclosed is a method and a hearing device for audio transmission. The hearing device is configured to be worn by a user. The hearing device comprises a first earphone comprising a first speaker. The hearing device comprises a second earphone comprising a second speaker. The hearing device comprises a virtual sound processing unit connected to the first earphone and the second earphone. The virtual sound processing unit is configured for receiving and processing an audio sound signal for generating a virtual audio sound signal. The virtual audio sound signal is forwarded to the first and second speakers, where the virtual audio sound appears to the user as audio sound coming from two virtual speakers in front of the user. The hearing device further comprises a first primary microphone for capturing surrounding sounds to provide a first surrounding sound signal based on a first primary input signal from the first primary microphone. The first primary microphone being arranged in the first earphone for providing a first rear facing sensitivity pattern towards the rear direction. The hearing device further comprises a first secondary microphone for capturing surrounding sounds to provide a second surrounding sound signal based on a first secondary input signal from the first secondary microphone. The first secondary microphone being arranged in the second earphone for providing a second rear facing sensitivity pattern towards the rear direction. The hearing device is configured for transmitting the first surrounding sound signal to the first speaker. The hearing device is configured for transmitting the second surrounding sound signal to the second speaker. Thereby the user receives the surrounding sound from the rear direction, while the surrounding sound from the front direction is attenuated compared to the surrounding sound from the rear direction.
Arrangement for producing head related transfer function filters
When three-dimensional audio is produced by using headphones, particular HRTF-filters are used to modify sound for the left and right channels of the headphone. As the morphology of every ear is different, it is beneficial to have HRTF-filters particularly designed for the user of headphones. Such filters may be produced by deriving ear geometry from a plurality of images taken with an ordinary camera, detecting necessary features from images and fitting said features to a model that has been produced from accurately scanned ears comprising representative values for different sizes and shapes. Taken images are sent to a server (52) that performs the necessary computations and submits the data further or produces the requested filter.
