COMMUNICATION DEVICE AND COMMUNICATION METHOD FOR WIRELESS COMMUNICATIONS
The present disclosure provides a communication device for wireless communication systems and a communication method for the communication device. The communication device includes: one or more processors, configured to determine information of a reference geographical location used for the communication device, and generate, based on the information of the reference geographical location and a current absolute geographical location of the communication device, information of a relative geographical location of the communication device with respect to the reference geographical location; and a communication unit, configured to transmit the information of the relative geographical location to a predetermined communication object.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR INDOORS ALTITUDE DETERMINATION
Altitude determining circuitry for use in a User Equipment (UE) of a wireless communication network is provided. The circuitry comprises a receiver to receive at least one pressure parameter representative of a plurality of indoors pressure measurements from a respective plurality of indoors pressure measurement units located inside a building at different altitudes. The altitude determining circuitry also has processing circuitry to receive from a pressure sensor in the User Equipment a local pressure measurement at the UE and the processor determines an indoors altitude of the UE using the at least one pressure parameter and the UE local pressure. An integrated circuit for a Global Navigate Satellite System comprising the altitude determining circuitry and an indoors pressure measurement unit having a sensor for making a pressure measurement and a transmitter for transmitting the pressure measurement to the UE or to a further indoors pressure measurement unit are also provided.
VEHICLE COMMUNICATION SYSTEM
A communication system for facilitating control over a function of a vehicle (102) comprises a base station (104) positioned in the vehicle (102) and a mobile communication unit (122). The base station (104) comprises a first transmitter for transmitting a signal to the mobile communication unit (122) and a first receiver for receiving a signal from the mobile communication unit (122). The base station (104) is further configured to cause the mobile communication unit (122) to operate in accordance with a limited-response duty cycle.
METHOD FOR DETERMINING LOCATION OF WIRELESS DEVICES
To determine a location of a client device in a wireless network having at least first and second network devices, with known locations, one of the network devices transmits a message to the other network device and the other network device responds with an acknowledgement message. A client device receives the message and the acknowledgement message as well as respective times indicating actual times at which the message and the acknowledgement message were processed by one of the first and second network devices. The client device determines its location based on the times at which it received the message and the acknowledgement message and the difference between the actual processing times. This location may be refined by determining an angle between the client device and at least one of the network devices having multiple antennas and being configured for steered beam communications.
APPARATUS, SYSTEMS, AND METHODS FOR PROVIDING LOCATION INFORMATION
The disclosed apparatus, systems, and methods relate to a location query mechanism that can efficiently determine whether a target entity is located within a region of interest (ROI). At a high level, the location query mechanism can be configured to represent a ROI using one or more polygons. The location query mechanism can, in turn, divide (e.g., tessellate) the one or more polygons into sub-polygons. Subsequently, the location query mechanism can use the sub-polygons to build an index system that can efficiently determine whether a particular location is within any of the sub-polygons. Therefore, when a computing device queries whether a particular location is within the region of interest, the location query mechanism can use the index system to determine whether the particular location is within any of the sub-polygons.
REDUCING THE NEED FOR MANUAL START/END-POINTING AND TRIGGER PHRASES
Systems and processes for selectively processing and responding to a spoken user input are provided. In one example, audio input containing a spoken user input can be received at a user device. The spoken user input can be identified from the audio input by identifying start and end-points of the spoken user input. It can be determined whether or not the spoken user input was intended for a virtual assistant based on contextual information. The determination can be made using a rule-based system or a probabilistic system. If it is determined that the spoken user input was intended for the virtual assistant, the spoken user input can be processed and an appropriate response can be generated. If it is instead determined that the spoken user input was not intended for the virtual assistant, the spoken user input can be ignored and/or no response can be generated.
Dynamically providing context-based notification and fulfillment
In some examples, a location of a merchant is updated as the merchant moves. A server receives the location of the merchant, and compares that location to the location of a user, so as to determine whether the merchant is located within a first threshold distance or a second, smaller threshold distance from the location of the user. If the user is within the first threshold distance, the server presents a first point of sale (POS) interface to initiate an order from the merchant and present the user with an option to fulfill that order through delivery. If the merchant is located within the second, smaller threshold distance from the user, the server presents the user with a second POS interface that gives the user an option to fulfill the order through pickup instead of delivery.
SYSTEM AND METHODS FOR LOCATING A MOBILE DEVICE
A system for locating a mobile device emitting a radio frequency signal. A wireless access point device of a wireless local area network is configured to communicatively connect to a wide area network. The system comprises a first access device for wirelessly communicatively detecting a first signal strength of the radio frequency signal in relation to the first access device, a media access control (MAC) address, and a first timestamp of the first signal strength, of the mobile device; a second access device for wirelessly communicatively detecting a second signal strength of the radio frequency signal in relation to the second access device, the MAC address, and a second timestamp of the second signal strength, of the mobile device; a third access device for wirelessly communicatively detecting a third signal strength of the radio frequency signal in relation to the third access device, the MAC address, and a third timestamp of the third signal strength, of the mobile device.
Context aware mode switching of wireless device
Described embodiments provide systems and methods for adjusting an operating mode for a wireless device's communications with a network. The wireless device may determine a communication profile of an application of the wireless device with the network. The wireless device may determine a type of motion of the wireless device. The wireless device may determine an operating mode for the wireless device's communications with the network, according to the communication profile and the type of motion. The wireless device may transmit a message to the network to cause the operating mode to be configured for the wireless device's communications with the network.
PHOTOGRAPHIC HISTORICAL DATA GENERATOR
A method and a system are disclosed including a mobile computing device, having a photo history app to obtain various information about a photo to be taken including geolocation data, geographic direction of the photo with respect to its subject, date, time, photographer's information, city name, angle of the picture or video, scene identifier such as a name or other designation of a subject building, park, street, library, courthouse, theater and the like. Taking a picture from an event or a famous person may cause an identification or other relevant information about the event or person to be recorded with the picture. The obtained data may be transmitted to a remote picture processing server with a database for processing to further obtain, from other sources, various statistics about the received picture. The server may return some of the relevant information to the app.
