Identity-based encryption of a message associated with a connection procedure
Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive a system parameter identified by a network entity (e.g., a public key generator (PKG)), and receive a cell identifier during a connection procedure between the UE and a base station in wireless communication with the UE. The cell identifier may be associated with the base station. The UE may encrypt at least a portion of a message associated with the connection procedure using the cell identifier and the system parameter. In some examples, the portion of the message may include private information. The UE may transmit the message to the base station as part of the connection procedure.
METHODS TO ENABLE EFFICIENT UPDATE OF STEERING OF ROAMING (SOR) INFORMATION
Methods, computer program products, and apparatuses are provided for enabling efficient update of steering of roaming information. An apparatus may include a processor and a memory storing computer program code configured to cause the apparatus to generate a registration request message associated with a user equipment, said registration request comprising a steering of roaming (SoR) information update request, and cause transmission of said registration request message to a network entity of a mobile network. Alternatively, the memory, computer program code, and processor may be configured to cause the apparatus to receive a registration request message comprising an indication of whether a user equipment expects to receive SoR information, and, in an instance in which it is determined that said user equipment expects to receive SoR information, triggering retrieval of said SoR information from a home network of said user equipment.
METHODS TO ENABLE EFFICIENT UPDATE OF STEERING OF ROAMING (SOR) INFORMATION
Methods, computer program products, and apparatuses are provided for enabling efficient update of steering of roaming information. An apparatus may include a processor and a memory storing computer program code configured to cause the apparatus to generate a registration request message associated with a user equipment, said registration request comprising a steering of roaming (SoR) information update request, and cause transmission of said registration request message to a network entity of a mobile network. Alternatively, the memory, computer program code, and processor may be configured to cause the apparatus to receive a registration request message comprising an indication of whether a user equipment expects to receive SoR information, and, in an instance in which it is determined that said user equipment expects to receive SoR information, triggering retrieval of said SoR information from a home network of said user equipment.
METHODS FOR TRUST INFORMATION IN COMMUNICATION NETWORK AND RELATED COMMUNICATION EQUIPMENT AND COMMUNICATION DEVICE
A method performed by a network equipment of a communication network to dynamically provide trust information to a communication device registered or being registered to the communication network is provided. The method includes determining a trust information for each of one or more access networks. The trust information indicates whether each of the one or more access networks is trusted. The method further includes indicating to the communication device whether the one or more access networks is trusted for a current session or a later session. A method performed by a communication device registered or being registered with a communication network to dynamically receive trust information is also provided. The method includes receiving a message including a protected trust information list from a network equipment. The method further includes verifying the protection of the message. The method further includes storing the protected trust information list.

Techniques for generating and maintaining an identifier (112) of a user equipment (UE) (102) are presented. For instance, the disclosure presents an example method (200) executed by a radio access network (RAN) node for providing a UE (102) with an identifier (112). This example method (200) can include, for example, generating the identifier (112) for the UE (102), where the identifier (112) includes RAN node identity information, a timestamp indicating a time at which the identifier is generated by the RAN node (106), and/or integrity information from which the identifier (112) is verifiable. In addition, the example method (200) can include adding the identifier (112) to an information container (110) corresponding to the UE (102) and forwarding the information container (110) including the identifier (112) to a core network node (108). Related RAN node (106) and core network node (108) devices are also presented, as well as example computer programs, systems, and techniques for generating and maintaining an identifier (112) for a UE (102).

A method, device, and computer-readable medium are provided for sending, by a customer-premises equipment (CPE) device to a wireless access device via a CPE network interface, an Internet protocol (IP) address lease request, wherein the wireless access device terminates a wireless backhaul connection to a service provider network; receiving, responsive to the IP address lease request, an acknowledge message that includes a requested IP address and a protocol configuration option (PCO) providing identification information for the wireless access device; connecting, via the wireless access device and using the requested IP address, to a bootstrap server device associated with the service provider network; receiving, via the wireless access device, attachment information associated with a network management server and the service provider network; and sending, via the wireless access device, the identification information to the network management server in an attachment procedure using the attachment information.
