System and method for utilizing stored higher layer information
A method for operating a station during a discovery process includes transmitting a first Layer 2 frame to an access point (AP), the first Layer 2 frame including a first version number associated with first higher layer information and an identifier of a protocol associated with both the first higher layer information and the first version number, receiving a second Layer 2 frame from the AP including an indication that a second version number associated with a second higher layer information is the same as the first version number, and deciding whether to perform a network selection process in accordance with the first higher layer information.
METHOD FOR CONTROLLING TRANSMISSION POWER, AND APPARATUS FOR SAME
A method for controlling transmission powers by a communication apparatus in a wireless communication system supporting a plurality of component carriers. When a sounding reference symbol (SRS) transmission overlaps with a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) transmission in a time domain, the communication apparatus checks whether a total of a PUSCH transmission power for the PUSCH transmission on a first component carrier and a SRS transmission power for the SRS transmission on a second component carrier exceeds a maximum transmission power configured for the communication apparatus, and drops the SRS transmission if the total of the PUSCH transmission power and the SRS transmission power exceeds the maximum transmission power configured for the communication apparatus.
METHOD, APPARATUS AND COMPUTER PROGRAM PRODUCT FOR TRANSFER OF CAPABILITY SUPPORT INFORMATION IN A MULTI-RAT ENVIRONMENT
An apparatus for enabling transfer of mobile terminal inter-RAT capabilities in a multi-RAT environment from the perspective of the capability provider may include at least one processor and at least one memory including computer program code. The at least one memory and the computer program code may be configured, with the processor, to cause the apparatus to perform at least receiving an indication of a request for mobile terminal inter-RAT capability information relative to a particular RAT, acquiring the inter-RAT capability information in response to receipt of the indication of the request for inter-RAT capability information, and providing the inter-RAT capability information to a target base station.
Method of supporting signal transmission and reception using at least two radio access technologies and apparatus therefor
A method of supporting communication using two or more heterogeneous radio access technologies (RAT) comprises: receiving a setup message providing instructions for access to a second base station in a second communication network supporting the second RAT from a first base station in a first communication network supporting a first RAT; and attempting to access the second base station. At this time, when the terminal successfully accesses the second base station, specific traffic type data are transmitted and received through the second base station, and data other than the specific traffic type can be transmitted and received through the first base station.
Data flow mobility
A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) may communicate using a data flow that is defined according to flow identification information (FII). The WTRU may participate in the transfer of the data flow between access networks of diverse radio access technologies. The WTRU may communicate with a mobility function to obtain access network and mobility policy information. The mobility function may be, for example, an Access Network Discovery Function (ANDSF). The mobility policy information may describe the conditions by which the transfer of data flows between access networks may be permitted.
WIRELESS LOCAL AREA NETWORK (WLAN) RADIO LINK FAILURE (RLF) TRIGGERING
Systems, methods, apparatuses, and computer program products for wireless local area network (WLAN) radio link failure (RLF) triggering are provided.
CHARGING FOR REROUTED PACKETS IN A HETEROGENEOUS WIRELESS COMMUNICATION SYSTEM
A base station receives packets at a base station in a first network that operates according to a first radio access technology (RAT). The base station selectively routes a portion of the packets towards one or more second networks that operates according to one or more second RATs and transmits information indicating a number of packets in the portion of the packets. The gateway receives the information indicating the number of packets from the base station, determines charging information based on the information indicating the number of packets, and transmits the charging information to a charging entity in the first network.
System and method for selecting layer-2 adapter
The present invention relates to a Layer 2 adapter selecting system, including a Layer 3 packet requirements extracting module, a destination Layer 2 address acquiring module, a Layer 2 adapter metric acquiring module, an appropriate Layer 2 adapter identifier selecting module, a packet caching module and a packet scheduling module; wherein the packet caching module is configured to cache a received Layer 3 packet; the Layer 3 packet requirements extracting module is configured to read the Layer 3 packet and extract the type and a parameter value of the requirements; the Layer 2 adapter metric acquiring module is configured to acquire instant metric parameter values of each of the adapters; the appropriate Layer 2 adapter identifier selecting module calculates an adapter identifier and a Layer 3 packet metric; the destination Layer 2 address acquiring module is configured to acquire a Layer 2 address of each of the adapters associated with a destination Layer 3 address; and the packet scheduling module calls an external Layer 2 adapter driver, and the Layer 2 adapter driver completes packaging and sending of the packet. The present invention may solve the problem of resource waste of multiple links, so that the multiple links may be used dynamically in parallel.
Method for controlling transmission power, and apparatus for same
A method is provided for controlling transmission powers by a communication apparatus in a wireless communication system supporting a plurality of component carriers. When a sounding reference symbol (SRS) transmission overlaps with a physical uplink control channel (PUCCH) transmission in a time domain, the communication apparatus checks as to whether a total of a PUCCH transmission power for the PUCCH transmission on a first component carrier and a SRS transmission power for the SRS transmission on a second component carrier exceeds a maximum transmission power configured for the communication apparatus. The SRS transmission is dropped by the communication apparatus if the total of the PUCCH transmission power and the SRS transmission power exceeds the maximum transmission power configured for the communication apparatus.
Method for determining cell handover and base station
The present invention is applicable to the field of communications and specifically provides a method for determining a cell handover. The method includes: receiving related information of a handed-over UE that is sent by a source base station when the source base station initiates a handover operation; and determining, according to the related information of the handed-over UE, whether to hand over the handed-over UE back to a source cell of the source base station, where the related information of the handed-over UE at least includes a handover cause reference value of the UE in the source cell. The technical solutions provided in the present invention have an advantage of avoiding back-and-forth Ping Pong handovers between a source cell of a source base station and a target cell of a target base station.
