SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR EARLY FR2 TUNE-AWAY
This disclosure provide various techniques for decreasing the time it takes user equipment to tune away from a compromised network connection. By more quickly detecting a signal characteristic issue (e.g., signal quality issue) in the compromised signal and performing mitigation actions, the user equipment may decrease power consumption and increase data throughput. The signal quality issue may be detected by monitoring the location of the user equipment, a channel impulse response of the user equipment, and/or a block error rate (BLER) of a signal, among other methods. The data obtained may be fed into confidence validation logic, which may determine a level of confidence that the signal quality issue may cause a weak or broken connection between the user equipment and a network. The confidence validation logic may, based on the determination, operate the user equipment in an active state, a suspend state, or a release state.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR SYNCHRONIZING PACKET DUPLICATION OPERATION BETWEEN BASE STATION NODES IN MOBILE COMMUNICATION SYSTEM
Methods and apparatuses are provided for activating or deactivating packet duplication in a wireless communication system. A central unit (CU) of a first base station transmits, to a distributed unit (DU) of the first base station, via an F1 interface, information to activate or deactivate a dual connectivity (DC) based packet duplication for a data radio bearer (DRB). The information is transmitted to a second base station. A medium access control (MAC) control element (CE) indicating whether to activate or deactivate packet duplication for the DRB, based on the information, is transmitted to a user equipment (UE).
ADJUSTING RADIO ACCESS NETWORK CONNECTIONS BASED ON COMMUNICATION FAILURES
A user equipment (UE) reduces power consumption by selectively disconnecting from a radio access network (RAN) while in a non-standalone (NSA) mode in response to detecting a threshold number of communication failures associated with the RAN. The UE connects to a core network in the NSA mode via both a 4G RAN and a 5G RAN. The UE monitors the connection with the 5G RAN for communication failures, such as Random Access Channel (RACH) failures, radio link failures (RLFs), and the like. In response to the number of detected failures exceeding a threshold, the UE can determine that the quality of the connection with the 5G RAN is providing relatively little benefit and can terminate the connection with the 5G RAN.

Methods and apparatuses for faster radio frequency activation
Systems, methods, apparatuses, and computer program products for faster radio frequency (RF) activation are provided. One method may include transmitting by a network node, or receiving by a user equipment, a connection release message for the user equipment, wherein the connection release message comprises an indication for the user equipment to start measuring secondary cells after connection release. The method may then include during or immediately after connection setup or connection resume, receiving by the network node or transmitting by the user equipment, an indication of availability of measurements of the secondary cells.

MA PDU DEACTIVATION PROCEDURE FOR MA PDU WITH PDN LEG
A method for handling a PDU session release command for releasing an MA PDU session with a PDN connection established as user-plane resource on 3GPP access is proposed. For an MA PDU session with both EPS/4G 3GPP leg and 5GS non-3GPP leg, if UE/NW wants to release the MA PDU session, UE/NW needs to initiate two procedures. First/Second, to release the EPS 3GPP leg, UE/NW should initiate a PDN disconnect procedure/deactivate EPS bearer context procedure or a detach procedure. Second/First, to release the 5GS non-3GPP leg, UE/NW should initiate a PDU session release procedure. The UE/NW can also initiate two procedures simultaneously. It is also possible that the UE initiates one procedure and the NW initiates the other procedure.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR PROVIDING CELL GROUP ACTIVATION OR DEACTIVATION SERVICE IN WIRELESS COMMUNICATION SYSTEM
A method and apparatus for providing a cell group activation or deactivation service in a wireless communication system are provided. The method includes a first base station transmitting, to a second base station, a request message associated with the dual access. The method includes receiving, from the second base station, a response message including configuration information related to a second cell group (SCG) for the dual access. The method includes identifying whether the response message includes information related to a state of the SCG. And the method includes transmitting, to a terminal, a radio resource control (RRC) message including the configuration information of the SCG and the information related to the state of the SCG, wherein the configuration information of the SCG includes information not to perform QoS flow remapping on data radio bearer associated with the SCG in case that the SCG is inactive or the information related to the state of the SCG includes a request deactivating the SCG.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR TRANSFERRING MULTIPLE PACKET DATA UNIT SESSIONS WITH A SAME DATA NETWORK NAME CONFIGURATION BETWEEN NETWORKS
A network device may receive an indication of movement of a user device, associated with multiple packet data unit (PDU) sessions, from a first radio access network (RAN) to a second RAN, and may maintain, based on the indication, a particular PDU session, of the multiple PDU sessions, associated with a default flow. The network device may release, based on the indication, the multiple PDU sessions other than the particular PDU session, and may handle the multiple PDU sessions, other than the particular PDU session, in accordance with a handling option.
Core network node, user equipment and methods in a packet communications network
A method performed by a core network node for handling a data service session in a packet communication network is provided. The packet communication network is configured to support fixed access between a User Equipment (UE) and an access network node. The core network node obtains a decision whether a monitored bandwidth over the fixed access is below a bandwidth requirement authorized to the UE. The bandwidth over the fixed access is monitored for a data service session between the UE and the Data Network via the fixed access. The core network node obtains a decision of how to handle the data service session based on the decision whether the monitored bandwidth over the fixed access is below the bandwidth requirement.
