PDU sessions with various types of session continuity
11601852 · 2023-03-07 · ·

Apparatuses, methods, and systems are disclosed for providing data connectivity with various types of continuity. One apparatus includes a transceiver and a processor that provisions a UE with a continuity selection policy comprising at least one prioritized rule for selecting a data session continuity type from a plurality of data session continuity types supported by a mobile communication network based on at least one characteristic of a request to establish a data session. The transceiver receives a request to establish a data session from the UE device, wherein the request specifies a particular data session continuity type. The processor establishes a first data connection with the UE device in response to the request, the first data connection having the particular data session continuity type. Here, the first data connection includes a PDU session between the UE device and the mobile communication network.

Mobile station apparatus and base station apparatus in mobile communication system

A state managing unit configured to control a prescribed communication resource allocating process and a reception processing unit configured to receive a control element (CE) are included. The prescribed communication resource allocating process is a process of allocating a communication resource at a predetermined time interval, and the state managing unit suspends an uplink grant configured for the prescribed communication resource allocating process in a case that the reception processing unit receives an SCell Activation/Deactivation MAC CE for deactivating a secondary cell, or an sCellDeactivationTimer configured for the secondary cell expires, and the state managing unit reinitializes the uplink grant suspended, in a case that the reception processing unit receives the SCell Activation/Deactivation MAC CE for activating the secondary cell after the state managing unit suspends the uplink grant.

Method and apparatus for setting timer value in network

A method for setting a value of an inactivity timer for transitioning between states of a data session in a network comprising a first entity and a second entity providing network analytics is provided. The method includes obtaining, by the second entity, input data comprising communication description information for at least one user equipment (UE), and providing, by the second entity to the first entity, output analytics generated based on the input data, the output analytics comprising UE communications analytics for each data session where the output analytics are used to determining whether to update a value of an inactivity timer for a data session.

ENHANCED INTERNET PROTOCOL MULTIMEDIA SUBSYSTEM CALL HANDLING

Systems and methods of enabling access for non-emergency voice calls are described. A UE operates in a network supporting voice services via a multitude of RATs. The UE attempts to access the network via a first RAT offering voice services and data services. If the UE does not receive a response from the network within a first time period, the UE re-attempts the access to the network via the first RAT. If the number of access attempts for which the UE does not receive a response is at least a threshold value, the UE refrains during a second time period from further access attempts via the first RAT for the purpose of receiving data services, and continues to attempt access via the first or second RAT for the purpose of receiving voice services.

Disclosed are a network slice management method, a terminal device, and a non-transitory computer-readable storage medium. The network slice management method comprises: acquiring terminal operation information (S100); determining, according to the terminal operation information, a network slice to be released from network slices accessed by applications of the terminal (S200); and releasing the network slice to be released (S300).

KEEP-ALIVE PROCEDURE FOR SIDELINK
20230063048 · 2023-03-02 ·

A method performed by a first user equipment (UE) configured for device-to-device (D2D) wireless communication. The method includes starting a keep-alive timer associated with a unicast sidelink (SL) connection with a second UE configured for D2D wireless communication. In response to expiration of the keep-alive timer, without receiving a transmission from the second UE while the keep-alive timer was running, a keep-alive message is transmitted to the second UE. In response to not receiving an acknowledgement of the keep-alive message, from the second UE within a predetermined duration, release of the unicast SL connection with the second UE is initiated without transmitting a further keep-alive message to the second UE.

The present application relates to methods, systems, and devices related to digital wireless communication, and more specifically, to techniques related to data transmission in a power efficient state. In one exemplary aspect, a method for wireless communication is disclosed. The method includes transmitting, by a terminal in a first state, a first message to a network node to start a data communication resume procedure to the network node. The method also includes monitoring, after transmission of the first message, a control channel with a network temporary identifier for a response to the first message.
