ENHANCED CONNECTION RELEASE TECHNIQUES FOR WIRELESS COMMUNICATIONS SYSTEMS

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive, from a base station, control signaling for communications in a wireless communications system. The control signaling may indicate a first duration for an inactivity timer. The UE may initiate the inactivity timer and a second timer based on identifying a period of inactivity. The second timer may have a second duration that is shorter than the first duration for the inactivity timer. In some examples, the second duration may be based on one or more parameters, such as a display status, a battery status, a scaling factor, the first duration, an application state, or any combination thereof. The UE may release a connection for the communications in the wireless communications system based on an expiration of the second timer, an expiration of the inactivity timer, or a combination thereof.

Method and terminal for controlling bandwidth part inactivity timer

This disclosure provides a method for controlling a bandwidth part inactivity timer and a terminal thereof. The method comprises: determining a work switching state of a secondary cell for which a Bandwidth Part (BWP) is configured; and disabling, by a terminal when the work switching state switches from an activated state to a non-activated state, a bandwidth part inactivity timer corresponding to a BWP currently activated on the secondary cell.

System enablers for multi-sim devices

Apparatuses, systems, and methods for a user equipment device (UE) to perform methods for enhancement of multi-SIM devices, such as UE 106. A network may increase paging retries for known MU-SIM devices, e.g., based on an indication of capabilities from a MU-SIM device. The indication may be via a NAS registration request, an RRC capability procedure, and/or an RRC UE assistance procedure. Additionally, a network may include an indication of a paging priority to the UE. The UE may then determine a response to the page based, at least in part, on the indicated priority. Further, the UE may indicate a tune-away to the network. The indication of the tune-away may include a cause and/or duration for the tune-away and may be provided at an RRC level or a network access stratum (NAS) level.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR OPTIMIZING PDN SYNCHRONIZATION BETWEEN USER EQUIPMENT AND NETWORK
20230018903 · 2023-01-19 ·

The disclosure provides methods and system for optimizing PDN synchronization between a user equipment and a network. The method comprises processing, by a user equipment, a deactivate request based on a stored set of parameters. The method further encompasses transmitting, from the user equipment to the network entity, a deactivate accept based on said processing, wherein said transmission of deactivate accept enables said network entity to deactivate a connectivity between the user equipment and the network entity to synchronize the user equipment with said network entity.

A control unit is configured to perform second control for stopping operation in a predetermined mode based on a second time shorter than a first time, the second time having elapsed with connection setting not made since the operation in the predetermined mode by a communication apparatus was started in a case where the communication apparatus is operating in the predetermined mode and the predetermined processing is completed.

INDICATING A PACKET DATA UNIT SESSION AS UNAVAILABLE
20230225006 · 2023-07-13 ·

Apparatuses, methods, and systems are disclosed for indicating a packet data unit session as unavailable. One apparatus includes a processor that determines that at least one packet data unit session is unavailable. The apparatus includes a transmitter that transmits information indicating that the at least one packet data unit session is to be released.

METHOD AND DEVICE FOR UPDATING A WAIT TIMER
20230225007 · 2023-07-13 ·

Methods and apparatuses are disclosed for updating a wait timer as a result of receiving one of a release message and a suspend message and/or configuring a wireless device (WD) to update a wait timer by determining the one of the release message and the suspend message to be communicated to the WD.
