The method is performed by a control plane function entity and includes: obtaining a correspondence between address information of a user plane function entity and a user plane capability supported by the user plane function entity; receiving a request message from an application server, where the request message is used to request to establish a session for a first service and includes service information of the first service, and the service information includes at least one of broadcast area information and service type information; determining address information of a target user plane function entity based on the correspondence and the service information; and establishing a session connection to the target user plane function entity based on the address information.

A system and method for multi-party communication includes determining a trending common identifier within a media platform and generating a communication channel within a communication platform based on the common identifier. The method and system includes, in response to a join request from each of a plurality of users, connecting the plurality of users to the communication channel, where the communication channel is an open communication channel for active audio communication between the plurality of users across the communication platform and facilitating audio communication between the plurality of users, including providing a visual display on the communication platform, including visual display of the active audio communication across the communication platform.

A system and method for multi-party communication includes determining a trending common identifier within a media platform and generating a communication channel within a communication platform based on the common identifier. Methods and apparatus enabling interruption of the use of communication resources by a first UE are disclosed. Interrupt requests (IR) sent from other UEs wishing to interrupt use of the communication resources by the first UE are monitored. If one or more IR are received, an interrupt requirement (IReg) is established, and the allocation of communication resources to the first UE is released in response to the IReq. In some embodiments, if a requirement for continuing use of the communication resources by the first UE is determined during a monitoring period, the IReq is reversed and the allocation of communication resources to the first UE is continued so that communication is not interrupted. Embodiments of the invention enable interruption of a high priority user by a co-ordinated or synchronised interrupt requests from UEs with lower priority.

The exemplary public safety system is configured to provision the first private network to accept a configuration credential. The exemplary public safety system is configured to send through the communications network the configuration credential to a user device, thereby provisioning a subscriber identification module (SIM) in the user device to access the first private network.
