Golf ball comprising a layer formed from a vanadium dioxide nano-particle composition; wherein the vanadium dioxide nano-particle composition comprises a polymer composition and one of a plurality of vanadium dioxide composite nano-particles, a vanadium dioxide composite nano-particle slurry, or a mixture of a polymer emulsion and the vanadium dioxide composite nano-particle slurry. Non-limiting examples of suitable polymer compositions include latexes, lacquers, enamels, acrylics, an epoxies, polyesters, urethane acrylates, polyester acrylates, alkyds, thermoset polyurethane compositions, thermoplastic polyurethane compositions, and/or ionomer compositions. The vanadium dioxide composite nano-particle slurry may be formed from a plurality of vanadium dioxide composite nano-particles that are dispersed throughout a dispersion medium. The polymer emulsion may comprise an aqueous dispersion or an emulsion of polymer resin.

METHODS FOR TREATING THERMOPLASTIC POLYURETHANE COVERS FOR GOLF BALLS WITH EPOXY COMPOSITIONS

Golf balls having covers made of thermoplastic polyurethane compositions are provided. Multi-piece golf balls can be made. In one embodiment, the outer cover layer is formed from a composition comprising a thermoplastic polyurethane and epoxy compound. Mixtures of multi-functional amines and imines, and multi-functional isocyanates, and epoxy curing agents; and solvent, can be applied to the outer cover. The resulting coating may contain polyurethanes, polyureas, and hybrids, copolymers, and blends thereof. The cover composition and surface coatings can further include catalysts, ultraviolet (UV)-light stabilizers, and other additives. The coating methods have many benefits and the finished balls have good physical properties.

GOLF TRAINING SYSTEM AND METHODS
20230356056 · 2023-11-09 ·

A golf training system generally includes a photoluminescent light-reactive surface and a light source that is placed on a golf club. During a training stroke performed over the photoluminescent surface, the light source excites phosphors in the light-reactive surface during a stroke and in doing so creates a transient visible “record” of the precise track the club head makes during the stroke. In some embodiments, the system can include a training ball having a phosphorescent material affixed to or integrated into the surface of the ball so that a light source placed on the golf club excites the phosphorescent material and indicates the point of contact between the golf club and the training ball.

Provided are a golf ball and a resin composition for a cover or topcoat thereof which can suppress the yellowing of the golf ball caused by ultraviolet rays even if a naturally derived substance is used as an ultraviolet absorber, and they are environmentally and human friendly. A resin composition for a cover or topcoat of a golf ball of the present invention contains: a resin for a cover or topcoat; and a plant-derived extract which absorbs ultraviolet rays. The resin composition has a color difference ΔE of 10.0 or less in a Lab color system between before and after a color tone change test, the color tone change test being carried out by irradiating a film formed from the resin composition with a xenon lamp. In the golf ball of the present invention, the cover or the topcoat is formed by using the resin composition.
