Wireless user equipment (UE) capability data transfer between wireless communication networks

A wireless communication network serves a User Equipment (UE) and exports UE capability data. A UE Capability Management Function (UCMF) receives the UE capability data and transfers the UE capability data to a Network Exposure Function (NEF). The NEF transfers the UE capability data to another wireless communication network. The UCMF receives additional UE capability data. The NEF receives a UE capability request for the UE from the other wireless communication network. In response, the NEF transfers the UE capability request for the UE to the UCMF. The UCMF transfers additional UE capability data to the NEF. The NEF transfers the additional UE capability data to the other wireless communication network.

METHOD FOR COORDINATION OF CONTROL PLANE TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT DURING DEVICE RECONFIGURATIONS AND RELATED APPARATUS

The present disclosure relates generally to communications, and more particularly to communication methods and related devices and nodes for control plane traffic management. Among other things, the disclosure presents a method performed by a central unit (CU) of a network node for coordination of control plane traffic management during a communication device reconfiguration in a telecommunications network. The method may, e.g., comprise receiving information from a distributed unit (DU) of the network node alerting the CU to reset a packet data convergence protocol (PDCP) sequence number of control plane traffic signaled from the communication device as a consequence of an event in the telecommunications network; and responsive to receiving the information, resetting the PDCP sequence number of the control plane traffic signaled from the communication device.

CONTEXTUAL NETWORK FUNCTION SELECTION AND TRANSFER
20220369196 · 2022-11-17 ·

The described technology is generally directed towards contextual network function selection and transfer. Techniques disclosed herein can be implemented at core network access management functions (AMFs). An AMF can obtain user equipment context information via a gNodeB (gNB). Rather than causing a local default session management function (SMF) and user plane management function (UPF) to process user equipment communications, the AMF can use a mapping function to identify, based on the user equipment context information, a proximal SMF and corresponding UPF which have a nearer proximity to the user equipment. The AMF can facilitate selection of the proximal SMF and UPF for the user equipment, and the AMF can transfer the user equipment context information to a proximal AMF that is better situated to serve the proximal SMF and UPF. By facilitating transfer to the proximal SMF and UPF, communication latency experienced by the user equipment can be reduced.

A communication method includes a first IAB node receives a first message from a CU of an IAB donor, where the first message indicates the first IAB node to be handed over from a first parent node to a second parent node, and the first message includes a first IP address of the first IAB node. The first IAB node determines first transport network layer association information between the first IAB node and the CU of the IAB donor based on the first IP address. The first IAB node updates control plane context information of an F1 interface by using the first transport network layer association information, where the F1 interface is an interface between the first IAB node and CU of the IAB donor. An IAB node communicates with a CU of an IAB donor by using a first IP address as soon as possible after handover is completed.
