The heat sink has an inner face facing the second side and is, at least in sections, spaced apart from the circuit board by at least one gap. The gap is at least partially filled with the at least one flowable and curable protective compound such that the flowable and curable protective compound is in direct contact with the circuit board and the heat sink. The heat sink adheres to the protective compound in a cohesive manner when the flowable and curable protective compound is in the cured state.

The signal input element is at least partially fastened in the hollow space and is electrically connected to the circuit board element via the base. The circuit board element includes a cut-out for inserting the signal input element into the hollow space through the circuit board element. The first fixing layer is configured for sealing the area between the base and the circuit board element and is arranged on the first surface of the circuit board element and on a part of the base.

A control unit having a connection structure for connecting components of the control unit to a base plate which eliminates the need for separate fasteners. The control unit includes circuitry mounted to a PCB, and the PCB is pre-assembled to a base plate, to form a pre-assembly. During assembly, the PCB and the base plate are aligned when placed in a tooling device which clamps and holds the pre-assembly in place during the over molding process. The circuitry is over molded with an epoxy material, such that the epoxy material flows from a top side of the PCB to underneath the base plate, and the PCB is fixed to the base plate without the use of fasteners such as screws, or adhesive materials.

The disclosure relates to a control device in a motor vehicle. The control device includes a housing cover with a peripheral edge region, and a planar, electrical connecting apparatus with integrated conductor tracks. The housing cover, in the edge region, is cohesively connected at least to the connecting apparatus and forms a cavity with the connecting apparatus. The control device also includes at least one electronic component within the cavity. The connecting apparatus electrically connects the at least one electronic component to electronic components outside the cavity. The housing cover is encapsulated by injection molding in a media-tight manner by a polymer beyond the peripheral edge region.

The control circuit unit is held positioned with respect to the cover and the protection tube with the cover and the protection tube locked by the locks.

The spacers are positioned so as to rest at least in corner regions of the first circuit board. The cover plate is positioned on the spacers. The casting compound acts as an end face and seals a gap formed by the spacers between the first circuit board and the cover plate, so as to form a housing for the electronic components, which are positioned therein. The casting compound secures the cover plate to the first circuit board via positive engagement. A coefficient of linear thermal expansion of the casting compound corresponds substantially to a coefficient of linear thermal expansion of the circuit board and of the cover plate.
