Methods of manufacturing flex circuits with mechanically formed conductive traces
A method of manufacturing a flexible circuit comprises providing a laminated substrate that includes a conductive layer, an adhesive layer, and a support layer. The method comprises forming conductive traces by removing selected portions of the conductive layer and the adhesive layer by dry milling the laminated substrate. The method comprises applying a protective coating to the conductive traces. The method comprises dispensing a solder material on the protective coating at a first connection point and arranging a first component at the first connection point. The method comprises heating the solder material to remove the protective coating from the first connection point and to connect the first component to one of the conductive traces at the first connection point. The method comprises attaching a second component to the conductive layer at a second connection point that is free of the protective coating by a process other than soldering.

An ultrasonic bonding head includes a vibrator unit, a holder, and a pressurizing shaft. The vibrator unit includes a press part formed at a tip of the vibrator unit in a longitudinal axis thereof and configured to press a bonding scheduled part to be bonded. The holder holds a base of the vibrator unit in a cantilever manner so that the tip is a free end. The pressurizing shaft is connected with the holder and transmits a force of pressing the press part against the bonding scheduled part so that the vibrator unit moves substantially perpendicularly to the longitudinal axis. The holder is provided with a restraint portion. The restraint portion contacts with the vibrator unit at a counterforce dispersion position located between a main hold position for holding the vibrator unit by the holder and the free end.

Method for manufacturing ceramic circuit board
According to one embodiment, a method for manufacturing a ceramic circuit board is disclosed. The ceramic circuit board includes a copper plate bonded to at least one surface of a ceramic substrate via a brazing material layer including Ag, Cu, and a reactive metal. The method includes: preparing a ceramic circuit board in which a copper plate is bonded on a ceramic substrate via a brazing material layer, and a portion of the brazing material layer is exposed between a pattern shape of the copper plate; a first chemical polishing process of chemically polishing the portion of the brazing material layer; and a first brazing material etching process of etching the chemically polished portion of the brazing material layer by using an etchant having a pH of 6 or less and including one type or two types selected from hydrogen peroxide and ammonium peroxodisulfate.
Desmearing method and desmearing device
Provided are a desmearing method and a desmearing device which are able to reliably remove a smear derived from any of an inorganic substance and an organic substance, and eliminate the need to use a chemical that requires a waste liquid treatment. The desmearing method of the present invention is directed to a desmearing method for a wiring substrate material that is a laminated body of insulating layers made from resin containing a filler and a conductive layer, and includes an ultraviolet irradiation treatment step for irradiating the wiring substrate material with ultraviolet beams with a wavelength of 220 nm or less, and a physical vibration treatment step for applying physical vibrations to the wiring substrate material which has undergone the ultraviolet irradiation treatment step.

An adhesive member is between an electronic component and an electronic panel that are connected to each other through the adhesive member. The adhesive member has a second surface and a first surface. The adhesive member includes a first recess pattern recessed from the first surface and a second recess pattern recessed from the first surface. The second recess pattern is spaced apart in a first direction from the first recess pattern. A sum of a planar area of the first recess pattern and a planar area of the second recess pattern ranges from about 20 percent (%) to about 70% of a planar area of the first surface.
ULTRASONIC-ASSISTED SOLDER TRANSFER
Apparatus and methods are disclosed for transferring solder to a substrate. A substrate belt moves one or more substrates in a belt direction. A decal has one or more through holes in a hole pattern that hold solder. Each of the solder holes can align with respective locations on one of the substrates. An ultrasonic head produces an ultrasonic vibration in the solder in a longitudinal direction perpendicular to the belt direction. The ultrasonic head and substrate can be moved together in the longitudinal direction to maintain the ultrasonic head in contact with the solder while the ultrasonic head applies the ultrasonic vibration. Various methods are disclosed including methods of transferring the solder with or without external heating.
