Board breaking apparatus and method
A board holder that is adapted for martial arts training has an elongate rod and at least one clamp disposed on an exterior surface of the elongate rod. The at least one clamp has a first clamping wall and a second clamping wall. The first and second clamping walls are adapted to secure a board. The board holder may also have a mount that is configured to be secured to a wall or a punching bag. Advantageously, a person may grip the board holder during training, as well as secure the board holder to the wall or punching bag.
Cover for hand-held pad used for hitting, punching, or kicking
A cover for a hand-held pad having one or two handles, the cover having interconnected panels that define one or more openings for inserting the pad into the cover and for providing access to the handle(s). In one embodiment, a punch pad has a glove portion, and the cover has a single opening for both inserting the pad into the cover and providing access to the pad glove. In another embodiment, the pad is a kickboxing pad having a hand grip and an arm band, and the pad has three openings: a first for inserting the pad into the cover, a second for accessing the hand grip, and a third for accessing the arm band. The panels are made suitable materials that enable the cover to fit snuggly over the pad where the front panel may be printed or written upon to display an image.
Sports blocking pad apparatus
A sports blocking pad apparatus for improved grip and protection for contact sports training includes a pad body defining a pad cavity. A pad filling is coupled within the pad cavity and is shock absorbent. An X-strap comprises a first diagonal strap and a second diagonal strap coupled to a back side of the pad body. The second diagonal strap is coupled to the first diagonal strap at an intersection portion of the first diagonal strap and the second diagonal strap. A plurality of rivets is coupled to the X-strap through the intersection portion. A plurality of handle straps is coupled to the pad body. Each of the plurality of handle straps is coupled to the back side, vertically oriented, and configured to receive a user's hand.
Athletic striking mitts
An athletic striking mitt is disclosed used in training athletes in boxing, martial arts, and other sports. The athletic striking mitt includes a back pad that increases the number of creative striking combinations available to the striker and reduces the repetitive stress common to the wrist, elbow, and shoulder of the trainer. An athletic striking mitt may include a glove assembly having a palm side and a back side, a front pad coupled to the palm side of the glove assembly, and a back pad coupled to the back side of the glove assembly. The glove assembly is sandwiched between the front pad and the back pad.

The athletic striking mitt includes a back pad that increases the number of creative striking combinations available to the striker and reduces the repetitive stress common to the wrist, elbow, and shoulder of the trainer. An athletic striking mitt may include a glove assembly having a palm side and a back side, a front pad coupled to the palm side of the glove assembly, and a back pad coupled to the back side of the glove assembly. The glove assembly is sandwiched between the front pad and the back pad.

The secondary target is configured to be associate with one or more of the chin, forehead, side, top, or the back of head when the sparring helmet is worn by the trainee.

The head-like striking area, the resilient neck-like striking area and the central striking area are covered with padding material to prevent injuring the user/athlete when kicking and/or punching.
