Sheath composition having flame retardancy and water resistance, and cable having sheath layer formed therefrom
Provided is a cable having a sheath composition having flame retardancy and water resistance, and a sheath layer formed of the sheath composition. Specifically, the present invention relates to a sheath composition for simultaneously improving flame retardancy and water resistance of a sheath layer of a cable, which are in a trade-off relation with each other, and physical properties such as heat resistance, hardness, and wear resistance, improving appearance, and reducing manufacturing costs; and a cable having a sheath layer formed of the sheath composition.
Soft polyolefin resin composition with improved direct-current insulation characteristics and article molded therefrom
A soft polyolefin resin composition and an article molded therefrom are provided. The polyolefin resin includes: (A) 50 to 95% by weight of an ethylene-propylene block copolymer obtained by polymerization of a propylene homopolymer or an ethylene-propylene random copolymer with an ethylene-propylene rubber copolymer in stages in reactors; (B) 4.8 to 40% by weight of an ethylene-α-olefin rubber copolymer; and (C) 0.2 to 10% by weight of a copolymer of ethylene and a polar monomer, based on the total weight of components (A) to (C). The glass transition temperature of the rubber component in the ethylene-propylene block copolymer appears at −60 to −40° C. when measured by a dynamic mechanical analyzer, the melt index of the polyolefin resin composition measured at 230° C. under a load of 2.16 kg is 0.5 to 20 g/10 minutes, and the glass transition temperature of the rubber component in the polyolefin resin composition appears at −60 to −40° C. when measured by a dynamic mechanical analyzer.
CURABLE COMPOSITION AND CURED PRODUCT THEREOF
A curable composition includes an olefin-aromatic vinyl compound-aromatic polyene copolymer satisfying conditions (1) to (4) and an additive resin, which is at least one of a hydrocarbon-based elastomer, polyphenylene ether, olefin-aromatic vinyl compound-aromatic polyene copolymerized oligomer, and aromatic polyene-based resin. (1) The number average molecular weight of the copolymer is 5000 to 100000. (2) The aromatic vinyl compound monomer has 8 to 20 carbon atoms, and the content of the unit of the monomer is 0 to 70 mass %. (3) The aromatic polyene is selected from polyenes having 5 to 20 carbon atoms and a plurality of vinyl and/or vinylene groups in the molecule, and the content of the groups is 1.5 to 20 pieces per number average molecular weight. (4) The olefin is selected from olefins having 2 to 20 carbon atoms, and the total monomer units of the olefin, aromatic vinyl compound, and aromatic polyene is 100 mass %.
CONDUCTIVE FILM, OPTOELECTRONIC DEVICE AND CONDUCTIVE FILM MANUFACTURING METHOD
To provide a novel conductive film having two regions differing in the light transmittance, an optoelectronic device having such a conductive film, and a method for producing a conductive film by which such a conductive film can readily be produced.
A conductive film, which has a first region and a second region having a light transmittance higher than the first region,
the conductive film having a first film formed of a conductive material as a material and a resin film formed of a fluorinated polymer as a material,
the first film being disposed to overlap with at least the first region among the first region and the second region,
the resin film being disposed to overlap with the second region, and
the fluorinated polymer satisfying the following (1) and (2):
(1) when the temperature is increased at a temperature-increasing rate of 2° C./min under a pressure of 1×10.sup.−3 Pa, the temperature at which the thermogravimetric loss rate substantially reaches 100% is 400° C. or lower;
(2) when the temperature is increased at a temperature-increasing rate of 2° C./min under a pressure of 1×10.sup.−3 Pa, the temperature width from a temperature at which the thermogravimetric loss rate is 10% to a temperature at which it is 90%, is within 200° C.
POLYMER COMPOSITION WITH IMPROVED STRESS WHITENING RESISTANCE
A polymer composition is provided with improved stress whitening resistance, having at least one thermoplastic polymer material and a dielectric liquid. A process for preparing the polymer composition, a cable having at least one electrically insulating layer obtained from the polymer composition, and a process for preparing the cable are also provided.
COPOLYMER, INJECTION MOLDED BODY, MEMBER TO BE COMPRESSED, AND COATED WIRE
A copolymer containing tetrafluoroethylene unit and a perfluoro(propyl vinyl ether) unit, wherein the copolymer has a content of the perfluoro(propyl vinyl ether) unit of 5.8 to 7.6% by mass with respect to the whole of the monomer units, a melt flow rate of 50 to 68 g/10 min, and the number of functional groups of —CF═CF.sub.2, —CF.sub.2H, —COF, —COOH, —COOCH.sub.3, —CONH.sub.2 and —CH.sub.2OH of 50 or less per 10.sup.6 main-chain carbon atoms. Also disclosed is an injection molded article and member to be compressed containing the copolymer, and a coated electric wire including a coating layer containing the copolymer.

INSULATED ELECTRICAL CABLE
Provided is an insulated electrical cable that includes a base resin containing a polypropylene resin, and a metallic hydroxide serving as a flame retardant, and has high wear resistance and favorable low-temperature resistance. An insulated electrical cable 10 includes a wire conductor 12, and an insulating coating 14 that coats an outer circumference of the wire conductor 12, and the insulating coating 14 includes a polymer component containing a polypropylene resin, and a flame retardant containing a metallic hydroxide. The polypropylene resin has a heat of fusion of at least 35 J/g, and in a molecular weight distribution of the polymer component, a number average molecular weight calculated at a peak with the largest area is at least 5.00×10.sup.4.
INSULATED ELECTRICAL CABLE
Provided is an insulated electrical cable that includes a base resin containing a polypropylene resin, and a metallic hydroxide serving as a flame retardant, and has high wear resistance and favorable low-temperature resistance. An insulated electrical cable 10 includes a wire conductor 12, and an insulating coating 14 that coats an outer circumference of the wire conductor 12, and the insulating coating 14 includes a polymer component containing a polypropylene resin, and a flame retardant containing a metallic hydroxide. The polypropylene resin has a heat of fusion of at least 35 J/g, and in a molecular weight distribution of the polymer component, a number average molecular weight calculated at a peak with the largest area is at least 5.00×10.sup.4.
Cable made from crosslinkable composition without antioxidant and with beneficial methane formation
The invention relates to a cable comprising layer(s), which layer(s), is/are obtained from a polymer composition, wherein the polymer composition comprises a polyethylene and a crosslinking agent, wherein the polymer composition contains a total amount of vinyl groups which is B vinyl groups per 1000 carbon atoms, and B.sub.1≤B, wherein B.sub.1 is 0.88, when measured prior to crosslinking according to method ASTM D6248-98; and wherein the crosslinking agent is present in an amount which is Z wt %, prior to crosslinking, based on the total amount (100 wt %) of the polymer composition, and Z≤Z.sub.2, wherein Z.sub.2 is 0.60, the cable, e.g. being a power cable, and processes for producing the cable; the cable useful in different end applications, such as wire and cable (W&C) applications.
