COMPOSITE CABLE

A composite cable includes a wire bundle and an outer layer sheath that covers the wire bundle. The wire bundle includes single-core first and second electric wires, a double-core twisted pair electric wire, and first, second, and third wire-shaped fillers. In a cross-sectional view, the wire bundle includes a wire unit in which the first and second wires and the twisted pair wire are arranged in contact with one another. In an imaginary circumscribed circle circumscribing the wire unit, the first wire-shaped filler is disposed in a first space between the first wire, the second wire, and the imaginary circumscribed circle, the second wire-shaped filler is disposed in a second space between the second wire, the twisted pair wire, and the imaginary circumscribed circle, and the third wire-shaped filler is disposed in a third space between the twisted pair wire, the first wire, and the imaginary circumscribed circle.

The present disclosure relates to an armoured cable (10) for transporting alternate current comprising: at least one core (12), each core comprising an electric conductor (121); at least one metallic screen (126) surrounding the at least one core (12); an armour (16), surrounding the at least one metallic screen, comprising an inner layer (16a) of armour wires and an outer layer (16b) of armour wires, at least part of the armour wires of the inner layer (16a) and at least part of the armour wires of outer layer (16b) comprising a ferromagnetic material; and a separating layer between the inner layer (16a) of armour wires and the outer layer (16b) of armour wires. The separating layer has a thickness of at least 1 mm. The present disclosure also relates to a method for reducing losses in said armoured cable and to a method for improving the performances of said armoured cable.

A cable assembly includes coaxially arranged inner and outer barrels. The outer barrel overlaps a portion of the inner barrel. The inner and outer barrels respectively include first and second features that cooperate with one another to form a retention feature. The cable assembly has a cable that has at least one wire surrounded by an inner insulator that is covered in a metallic shield. The metallic shield is arranged in between the inner and outer barrels. The first feature is arranged beneath the metallic shield, and the second feature is arranged over the metallic shield. At least one of the first and second features extends in a radial direction relative to the other of the first and second features to capture the metallic shield with the retention feature.
