A grommet is disclosed. The grommet includes a tubular portion including a frustoconical segment and a first circular segment. The frustoconical segment includes a at least one opening within a frustoconical surface, where the at least one opening forms one or more flanges. The tubular portion is configured to be inserted into a cabin through a cabin opening while forming an interference fit between the frustoconical segment and the first circular segment with the cabin opening to prevent ingress of water into the cabin. The one or more flanges are configured to be compressed upon insertion in the cabin opening, and expanded after reaching an inner side of the cabin. The present grommet with a flexible and cost-effective self-lock design connects to an external roof harness.

A method of manufacturing a cable seal is provided, the method including the steps of providing a cable having a protective outer jacket of a non-PVC material; preparation of the protective outer jacket of the cable such as to promote adhesion with a sealant; and overmolding the outer jacket with a sealant. As a result, a sealing interface is formed between the jacket and the sealant.

The invention further relates to a system that is composed of a separator and a bushing element for providing an electrically conductive connection through the separator, the separator having a bushing receptacle into which the bushing element is inserted in a positive or at least substantially positive manner.

Grommet

A grommet which is configured to cover a periphery of a wire harness includes a panel mounting portion which is configured to be mounted to a panel. The panel mounting portion includes a base portion which is formed in an annular shape, a seal portion which is formed on the base portion and is configured to be in close contact with a surface of the panel, and a groove portion which is formed between the base portion and the seal portion along a peripheral direction of the panel mounting portion. A plurality of reinforcing ribs are configured to connect the base portion and the seal portion and are arranged in the peripheral direction in the groove portion, and the reinforcing ribs are inclined with respect to a mounting direction of the panel mounting portion to the panel.
