Breathing assist device
Apparatus for providing breathing assistance, the apparatus including a body for positioning within an oral cavity of a user, the body defining at least one first opening for allowing airflow between lips of the user, two second openings provided in the oral cavity to allow air flow into and out of a posterior region of the oral cavity and two channels, each channel connecting a respective second opening to the at least one first opening and each channel passing at least one of at least partially along the buccal cavity and at least partially between the teeth to thereby provide an airway for the user, the airway at least partially bypassing the nasal passage and acting to replicate a healthy nasal passage and pharyngeal space.
Personal air filtration apparatus and method
An apparatus and methods for air filtration are disclosed. The apparatus includes a body and first and second replaceable filters. The body of the apparatus further contains an air-exchange assembly and a filter receiver attached to the air exchange assembly. The air-exchange assembly contains an exhaust tube with an open end and a closed end, two wings on opposite sides of the exhaust tube, and an intake check valve and an exhaust check valve inside the exhaust tube. The first replaceable filter surrounds the filter receiver; and the second replaceable filter is inside the filter receiver. Several apertures and the check valves are strategically disposed in the exhaust tube to achieve optimal air filtration and avoid contamination of a user's exhaust.
Supplement Dispensing Mouthguard Device
A supplement dispensing mouthguard device is an apparatus that readily supplies supplements into the mouth of a user while the user is performing an exercise. The apparatus includes an upper U-shaped platform, a lower U-shaped platform, an inner curved wall, an outer curved wall, a main fastener, a supplement reservoir, at least one inlet, and a plurality of outlets. The upper U-shaped platform and the lower U-shaped platform protects the teeth. The inner curved wall and the outer curved wall protects the tongue and the inner walls of the cheeks of the user. The main fastener connects the upper U-shaped platform with the lower U-shaped platform and seals the at least one inlet. The supplement reservoir contains the desired supplement. The at least one inlet provides access into the supplement reservoir. The plurality of outlets distributes the supplement into the mouth of the user.
MOUTHGUARD EMBOSSED DESIGN FEATURE AND METHOD OF MAKING
A device worn by a user which protects the user's teeth while the user is engaged in physical activities having design elements and features. This invention includes a mouthguard, formed of a material having a color. The mouthguard is comprised of a U-shaped body and an embossed or extruded design feature extending from a surface of the mouthguard, the design feature and the U-shaped body form a single, monolithic structure. The design feature may be the same color as the mouthguard, or it may be of a different color. The design feature may be a graphic, a text, symbol, shape, logo or any other design. It may also be a combination of graphics, text, symbols, shapes, logos, and other designs.
Device for providing a measured vertical dimension of occlusion
Devices and methods for treating respiratory problems of a subject, such as those related to sleep apnea, are presented herein. An implementation of a device may be configured to provide a measured vertical dimension of occlusion (VDO) and/or mandibular advancement in a subject. Methods for treating a subject through the use of the device may include systematically increasing and/or decreasing the measured VDO provided by the device.
Dental Appliance
In one aspect of the present application, a dental appliance for isolating jaws from facial muscles is provided, the dental appliance is substantially in the shape of an elongated plate curved according to dental arches, and is received between the jaws and the facial muscles when it is worn, the dental appliance comprises: buccal shields located at both ends of the dental appliance and configured to isolate posterior teeth from facial muscles; and labial bumpers located in the middle of the dental appliance and configured to isolate anterior teeth from facial muscles, wherein the buccal shields and the labial bumpers form an integral piece.
MOUTH PIECE FOR COOLING OF ORAL TISSUE OF A PATIENT DURING CHEMOTHERAPY TREATMENT
The invention is directed to a mouth piece for cooling of oral tissue of a patient during chemotherapy treatment. The mouth piece includes a cooling medium contained within the top element and the bottom element and able to retain a cooling environment within the mouth sufficient to reduce capillary blood flow to the patient's mouth.
Water sports nasal guard
A water sports nasal guard prevents unwanted contaminated water from entering a user's nostrils. The water sports nasal guard includes a mouth guard, an upper tongue shield, a lower tongue shield, and a nostril shield. The mouth guard allows the user to bite down on the water sports nasal guard, thereby upholding the nostril shield against the nasal passages of the user. The nostril shield presses up against the openings of the user's nasal passages. The mouth guard further includes an arch-shaped body, an upper teeth receptacle, and a lower teeth receptacle. The arch-shaped body positions the upper teeth receptacle and the lower teeth receptacle opposite to each other, both of which accommodate the upper teeth and lower teeth of the user. The upper tongue shield and the lower tongue shield prevent the user's tongue from coming between the teeth of the user and the mouth guard.
In-mouth filter against insects and particulates
An in-mouth barrier against entry of insects, pollen and particulates in to the open mouth of a user, particularly in strenuous outdoor exercises, needs to be comfortable and fully effective for various extents of an agape mouth, and ideally should require no conscious effort to re-position in even long durations. A filter frame surrounding a screen is formed to the dental arch so as to envelope both rows of teeth except possibly the molars. A flange on the frame holds the frame on the mandibular teeth and prevents the frame from moving down. The end of the flange lies under the tip of the tongue and prevents the frame from moving up. The frame thus remains comfortably inside the vestibule and covers the mouth for the various extents it may be opened to.
