Bi-directional oxygenation apparatus for a non-intubated patient
A self-administered oxygenation apparatus for increasing pressure within a non-intubated patient's lungs and thereby increasing an amount of oxygen in the non-intubated patient's blood when operated by the patient includes a mouthpiece, a vent member, and a resistance member. The mouthpiece includes an external portion defining a center orifice through which the patient selectively inhales and exhales air. The resistance member is a PEEP valve positioned between the interior area of the vent member and the mouthpiece, the resistance member having a flexible construction configured to open upon inhalation so as to allow ambient air inhaled by the patient to pass thereby without resistance and to close upon exhalation, exhalation causing an end shield to pivot outwardly from the vent member under a bias of external elastic members.
In-mouth Filter against Insects and Particulates
An in-mouth barrier against entry of insects, pollen and particulates in to the open mouth of a user, particularly in strenuous outdoor exercises, needs to be comfortable and fully effective for various extents of an agape mouth, and ideally should require no conscious effort to re-position in even long exercise durations. A filter frame surrounding a screen is formed to the dental arch so as to envelope both rows of teeth except possibly the molars. A flange on the frame holds the frame on the mandibular teeth and prevents the frame from moving down. The end of the flange lies under the tip of the tongue and prevents the frame from moving up. The frame thus remains comfortably inside the vestibule and covers the mouth for the various extents it may be opened to.
MOUTHGUARD INCLUDING A PROTECTION PORTION HAVING HEATING AND SOFTENING FEATURES
A mouthguard according to an embodiment of the present disclosure includes an occlusion portion that is configured to be disposed between and engaged by at least some of the upper teeth and at least some of the lower teeth of a wearer. The mouthguard further includes a protection portion coupled to the occlusion portion. The protection portion is configured to be disposed laterally and anteriorly relative to the upper teeth of the wearer. The protection portion includes an interior surface that is configured to face toward the teeth of the wearer. The protection portion further includes an exterior surface opposite the interior surface and configured to face away from the teeth of the wearer. At least a portion of the exterior surface is a textured surface.

MOUTHGUARD WITH TAPERED BREATHING CHANNEL
A mouthguard according to an embodiment of the present disclosure includes a pair of spaced lateral bite wings, a conduit defining an air channel extending between forward portions of the lateral bite wings, and a lip shield member and/or a flange disposed around and extending radially outward with respect to a forward end of the conduit. The conduit is tapered inward from its forward end toward its rearward end, and defines an incisor engaging surface proximate the rearward end of the conduit, and a lip engaging surface between the incisor engaging surface and the forward end of the conduit.
Athletic Mouthguard With Lung Exerciser
An athletic mouthguard with lung exercising variable, two-way airflow-restricting valve is disclosed. The mouthguard has a mouthpiece with a lower tooth bed and an upper tooth bed overlying the lower. Outer and an inner sidewall connects the beds. A channel passes between the lower and upper beds with a first end open within the inner sidewall and a second end open within the outer sidewall. Certain embodiments include a channel wall which separates the channel into multiple channels. A manifold in fluid communication with the channel terminates to a centralized aperture with a valve seat. A rotatable valve member in the valve seat has an aperture therethrough.
Dental appliance
In one aspect of the present application, a dental appliance for isolating jaws from facial muscles is provided, the dental appliance is substantially in the shape of an elongated plate curved according to dental arches, and is received between the jaws and the facial muscles when it is worn, the dental appliance comprises: buccal shields located at both ends of the dental appliance and configured to isolate posterior teeth from facial muscles; and labial bumpers located in the middle of the dental appliance and configured to isolate anterior teeth from facial muscles, wherein the buccal shields and the labial bumpers form an integral piece.
