A failure prediction assembly is structured to monitor circuit breaker assembly sub-assemblies and their component's characteristics. The failure prediction assembly includes a sensor supported D-shaft and a sensor assembly including a housing and a number of sensors. The sensor assembly housing defines a D-shaft passage. A control unit is in electronic communication with the sensor assembly. The sensor assembly housing is coupled to the circuit breaker sidewalls with the sensor assembly housing D-shaft passage aligned with the circuit breaker sidewall D-shaft passages. The sensor supported D-shaft is rotatably coupled to the sensor assembly with the sensor supported D-shaft disposed through said sensor assembly housing D-shaft passage.

A motor assembly for a switch drive of an electric switch. The motor assembly has a brushless three-phase motor and an electronic control device for controlling the three-phase motor. The control device has a rectifier unit for rectifying a supply voltage of the motor assembly if the supply voltage is an AC voltage, and for reverse polarity protection if the supply voltage is a DC voltage. The control device also has a voltage measuring unit for detecting a rectifier output voltage of the rectifier unit, a switch unit for generating a pulse width-modulated drive AC voltage for the three-phase motor from the rectifier output voltage, and a control unit for actuating the switch unit according to the rectifier output voltage.

An electrical switch assembly includes a first contact supported for movement into and out of electrical connection with a second contact. A cam assembly is configured to deflect a spring into a stressed condition, and to move the first contact into electrical connection with the second contact under a bias of the spring upon return deflection of the spring from the stressed condition. A motor has an output member. A linkage interconnects the output member with the cam assembly to deflect the spring into the stressed condition in response to movement of the output member.

A fast earthing switch device for HV applications which includes a gas-tight casing, a movable contact connectable to and unconnectable from a fixed contact. The movable contact is linearly movable between an open position in which it is spaced apart from the fixed contact and a closed position in which it is connected to the fixed contact and vice versa. The device further includes an operating mechanism for the movable contact and is characterized in that the operating mechanism includes an actuating spring actuating a closing operation of the movable contact from the open position to the closed position, at least a driving lever mounted on an operating shaft actuating an opening operation of the movable contact from the closed position to the open position, the driving lever also partially reloading the actuating spring during the opening operation, the operating mechanism further includes coupling means operatively coupling the driving lever to the movable contact.

An apparatus includes a switch having alternately open and closed conditions, and a shunt trip mechanism configured to detect and respond to an electrical fault condition. The apparatus further includes an operating mechanism including a spring assembly. The operating mechanism is actuatable manually to deflect the spring assembly into a stressed condition, and is actuatable automatically in response to the shunt trip mechanism to shift the switch into the open condition upon return deflection of the spring assembly from the stressed condition. The spring assembly may include springs connected in parallel.

The invention concerns a drive unit for a high and medium voltage circuit breaker comprising of a main shaft being rotatable around its main axis between a first position corresponding to a closed state of the circuit breaker and a second position corresponding to an opened state of the circuit breaker, elastic means for driving the main shaft in rotation towards the second position, and releasable means for preventing the rotation of the main shaft from the second position towards the first position, wherein the releasable means comprise retention pawl which removably engages the main shaft and which, when engaged, enables the main shaft to rotate towards the second position but prevents its rotation from the second position towards the first position.

Failure prediction device and method for vacuum circuit breakers

A component monitoring system structured to monitor circuit breaker assembly component characteristics is provided. The component monitoring system includes a record assembly, a number of impulse sensor assemblies, a comparison assembly, and an output assembly. The record assembly includes selected nominal data for a selected circuit breaker component. The impulse sensor assemblies are structured to measure a number of actual component characteristics for a substantial portion of the circuit breaker assembly and to transmit actual component characteristic output data. The comparison assembly is structured to receive an electronic signal from the record assembly and the impulse sensor assemblies, to compare each impulse sensor assembly actual component characteristic output data to the selected nominal data and to provide an indication signal as to whether the impulse sensor assembly output data is acceptable when compared to the selected nominal data. The output assembly includes a communication assembly and an output device.
