Method and apparatus for controlling a relay
In a method for controlling a relay with a relay contact, switching as an opening operation or a closing operation at the relay is temporally captured with respect to accurate opening or closing of the relay contact in comparison with a switching voltage zero crossing of a switching voltage to be switched. An actual switching time is determined and is corrected by means of further capturing of switching operations. A microcontroller is used for this purpose, and the signals can be digitally captured, that is to say at an A/D input.
Systems and methods for implementing multiple motor starters with a printed circuit board
A method may include receiving, via one or more processors, back electromotive force (EMF) data associated with each motor electrically coupled to a printed circuit board and determining, via the processors, a corresponding motor controller associated with each motor based on the EMF data. The motor controllers may be electrically coupled to the printed circuit board. The method may also include automatically adjusting, via the processors, circuit connections associated with the printed circuit board to route wiring that controls each motor to the corresponding motor controller.
Systems and methods for relay contact assembly reduction
Systems and methods for contact erosion mitigation are provided. To perform contact erosion mitigation, an order of opening/closing poles and/or contact relays of particular poles is altered, resulting in a sharing of potential arcing conditions amongst the poles/contact relays of these poles.
Method and device for monitoring operation of a switching device for controlled switching applications
The invention relates to monitoring operation of a switching device in a power system, where a load is connected to a power source through the switching device. The load has windings, with coupling between at least one of two or more phases of a winding, and two or more windings of the load. The method includes obtaining measurements of at least one of voltages and currents, at one or more of a source and load side. Further, the method determines an electrical parameter associated with electrical switching of one or more poles. The parameter for each pole is determined based on at least one of voltage measurements at the source and load side, and line measurements associated with at least one winding. The values of the electrical parameter are monitored to determine the switching instant of the pole, for determining mechanical operating time deviation for estimating future switching instants.

DIAGNOSTIC APPARATUS FOR SWITCHING DEVICE
A diagnostic apparatus for switching device diagnoses whether any anomalies occurs in a switching device including an operation shaft that opens and closes a circuit breaker contact serving as a contact. The diagnostic apparatus for switching device includes: a gradient calculation unit that calculates a gradient of a waveform that indicates motion of the operation shaft and represents a relationship between a position of the operation shaft and a time that elapses since an operating command has been input to the switching device; and an anomaly diagnosis unit that extracts, from a relationship between the time and the gradient calculated, a feature value representing a motion characteristic of the operation shaft and diagnoses whether an anomaly occurs and a factor behind the anomaly that occurs, on the basis of a result of comparison between the extracted feature value and a preset reference value.

METHOD AND DEVICE FOR DETERMINING CLOSING TIME OF CIRCUIT BREAKER, AND COMPUTER-READABLE MEDIUM
A method, device and computer readable medium are provided for determining the closing time of a circuit breaker. In an embodiment, the method includes: sampling a voltage signal of a target phase in the three-phase voltage signal of the circuit breaker; determining a first time period according to a voltage value of the sampled voltage signal, a voltage signal in the first time period including a voltage jump point of the voltage value; finding a voltage jump point of a voltage value in the first time period according to a change in the voltage value of the voltage signal in the first time period; and determining the closing time of a target phase of the circuit breaker according to the found sampling time of the voltage jump point.
