A low-voltage circuit breaker, including: at least one fixed contact, for each pole, which is electrically connected to a terminal for connection to an electric circuit and a corresponding moving contact which is associable/separable with respect to the fixed contact by means of a rotation of the moving contact; an arc chamber positioned in correspondence of the fixed contact; a rotating contact supporting shaft common to all poles, which is functionally connected to an actuation mechanism of the circuit breaker, the actuation mechanism including a kinematic system operatively connected to an actuation lever for opening/closing operations and provided with opening springs and a tripping shaft for releasing the kinematic system and allowing its movement from a closed to an open position. The low-voltage circuit breaker includes for each pole a quick acting trip device including a plunger inserted in a first channel connected to an arc chamber of the corresponding pole, the first channel being positioned proximate to the at least one fixed contact with its longitudinal axis perpendicular to the axis of the rotating contact supporting shaft, the plunger having a first operative surface subjected to the pressure of the arc chamber and a second operative surface, the quick acting trip device further includes a trip lever having a first portion cooperating with the tripping shaft and a second portion cooperating with the second operative surface of the plunger.

The first and second electrodes (54, 56) are separated by a rail gap. A third electrode (52) moveable relative to the first and second electrodes (54, 56) between a closed circuit position and an open circuit position is provided, whereby an electrical arc is generated between the third electrode (52) and at least one of the first and second electrodes (54, 56) during said movement. Once generated, the arc is directed by the first and second electrodes (54, 56) away from the third electrode (52).

An electrical interrupter device for switching a short-circuit electrical current in an electric circuit is disclosed. A third electrode (52) moveable relative to the first and second electrodes (54, 56) between a closed circuit position and an open circuit position is provided, whereby an electrical arc is generated between the third electrode (52) and at least one of the first and second electrodes (54, 56) during said movement. Once generated, the arc is directed by the first and second electrodes (54, 56) away from the third electrode (52).

ARC EXTINGUISHING CHAMBER BASE OF MOLDED CASE CIRCUIT BREAKER

The present disclosure relates to an arc extinguishing chamber base of a molded case circuit breaker and, more specifically, to an arc extinguishing chamber base of a molded case circuit breaker, manufactured using a thermoplastic resin. The present disclosure enables an arc extinguishing chamber base for forming a molded case circuit breaker to be manufactured using an aromatic polyamide-based thermoplastic resin, thereby enabling an increase in productivity, a decrease in component weight, a reduction in component production time, an eco-friendly effect, and recycling. Furthermore, component lifespan increases.

An improved high speed breaker for industrial or railways applications wherein a high D.C. current must be interrupted with high efficiency and extremely fast intervention times. The breaker includes, in a casing, a base portion supporting an activating a switching mechanism including a holding mechanism and a release mechanism, an intermediate switching or breaking contacts portion, including fixed contacts and movable contacts, and a top arc chute extinguishing portion covering the switching or breaking contact portion, wherein intermediate delimiting portions are provided on both sides of the casing to delimit laterally the intermediate switching or breaking contact portion and to provide lateral guides for the arc chute extinguishing portion, wherein the arc chute extinguishing portion is slidably mounted in the casing, and wherein at least a lever mechanism is extended transversally between the opposite intermediate delimiting portions for moving or raising the arc chute extinguishing portion for inspection.
