A cell stack device includes a cell stack, a holding member, and a positive electrode terminal. The cell stack is constructed by stacking a plurality of cells. The holding member holds the cells. The positive electrode terminal functions as a positive electrode when power generated by the cell stack is output to the outside. The potential of the positive electrode terminal is not more than that of the holding member.

The first electrode includes a first thin film electrode 4A formed in a manner of covering at least the region, and a first mesh-like electrode 4B connected to the first thin film electrode and provided corresponding to the support portion. The first mesh-like electrode 4B has a film thickness larger than that of the first thin film electrode and has a mesh-like shape in a plan view.

FUEL BATTERY CELL, FUEL BATTERY SYSTEM, LEAK DETECTION METHOD

The present invention aims to provide a fuel battery system improved in reliability by accurately detecting when a fuel electrode gas or an air electrode gas has leaked. A fuel battery cell according to the present invention includes a first electrode, an electrolyte membrane, and a second electrode which are layered on a support substrate. Further, at least any one of the first electrode, the electrolyte membrane, and the second electrode is electrically isolated by an insulating member to form a first region and a second region. The insulating member is disposed at a position where the insulating member does not overlap with an opening portion of the support substrate (refer to FIG. 3).

Patterned nanoparticle structures

Aspects relate to patterned nanostructures having a feature size not including film thickness of below 5 microns. The patterned nanostructures are made up of nanoparticles having an average particle size of less than 100 nm. A nanoparticle composition, which, in some cases, includes a binder, is applied to a substrate. A patterned mold used in concert with electromagnetic radiation function to manipulate the nanoparticle composition in forming the patterned nanostructure. In some embodiments, the patterned mold nanoimprints a pattern onto the nanoparticle composition and the composition is cured through UV or thermal energy, Three-dimensional patterned nanostructures may be formed. A number of patterned nanostructure layers may be prepared and joined together. In some cases, a patterned nanostructure may be formed as a layer that is releasable from the substrate upon which it is initially formed. Such releasable layers may be arranged to form a three-dimensional patterned nanostructure for suitable applications.

FUEL CELL AND FUEL CELL STACK

An object of the present invention is to provide a fuel cell that obtains high output density and prevents stress application to the cell during stack assembling and breakage. The fuel cell is equipped with a unit cell including a structure in which an electrolyte layer is sandwiched between an anode electrode layer and a cathode electrode layer. The unit cell is disposed between a first member and a second member. An intermediate substrate is disposed between the first member and the second member. The unit cell is supported at the outer peripheral portion thereof by the intermediate substrate. The width of the electrolyte layer is the maximum width or less of a hollow portion formed between at least one of the first member and the second member and the unit cell.
