The present disclosure provides a cable-type secondary battery, comprising: an inner electrode; a separation layer surrounding the outer surface of the inner electrode to prevent a short circuit between electrodes; and a sheet-form outer electrode spirally wound to surround the separation layer or the inner electrode.

Cylindrical alkaline storage battery

An alkaline storage battery includes: a cylindrical case having a side wall including an opening end portion and a bottom; a sealing plate; a gasket interposed between the sealing plate and the opening end portion; and a sealant between the gasket and the opening end portion. The side wall has an annular groove opened at an outer surface thereof, and an inwardly curl portion at the opening end portion. In at least part of the groove, the minimum width L1 is within 0.2 mm. The sealant includes a polyamide resin formed such that when two test-plate materials are bonded together at bonding faces facing each other via a bonding portion of the sealant, and moved in parallel with the bonding faces and in opposite directions to have a relative displacement within 0.5 to 5 mm, a stress at least 0.02 N/mm.sup.2 is applied to the bonding portion.

The present invention provides a nickel-zinc secondary battery, including: a battery case; an electrode assembly, disposed in the battery case; and an electrolyte solution, positioned in the battery case, and filled around the electrode assembly, wherein the electrode assembly includes a nickel positive electrode, a zinc negative electrode, and a membrane separator disposed between the nickel positive electrode and the zinc negative electrode; the nickel positive electrode includes: a substrate and positive electrode material coated on the surface of the substrate; the positive electrode material includes: 68 wt %69 wt % positive electrode active material, 0.6 wt %1 wt % yttrium oxide, 0.2 wt %0.6 wt % calcium hydroxide, 3.5 wt %4 wt % nickel powder, and a binder in balance; and the positive electrode active material is a spherical nickel hydroxide coated with Co3+. The nickel-zinc secondary battery provided by the present invention can reduce the amount of hydrogen evolved and have good cycling performance while maintaining the battery capacity. The present invention further provides a method for preparing a nickel-zinc secondary battery.

ZINC BATTERY

A battery includes an exterior can, an electrode group housed together with an alkaline electrolyte in the exterior can, and a sealing member that seals the exterior can. The electrode group is formed by winding a positive electrode and a negative electrode stacked together with a separator interposed therebetween into a spiral shape and has a columnar overall shape. A protruding negative electrode edge portion that is a partially protruding portion of the negative electrode is located at a lower end surface portion of the electrode group, and the protruding negative electrode edge portion is in direct contact with the inner surface of a bottom wall of the exterior can.

Electrode assembly and secondary battery comprising the same

An electrode assembly and a secondary battery are provided. In an exemplary embodiment, an electrode assembly includes: a first electrode plate having a first electrode tab attached thereto; a second electrode plate having at least one second electrode tab attached thereto; and a separator between the first electrode plate and the second electrode plate, the electrode assembly wound in a state in which the first electrode plate, the separator, and the second electrode plate are stacked, and the first electrode plate includes coating portions formed by coating an active material on first and second surfaces thereof, and a half-coating portion formed by coating the active material on only one of the first and second surfaces at a region corresponding to a leading edge, on the basis of a winding direction, where an active material of the second electrode plate begins.

An alkaline storage battery includes a positive electrode. The positive electrode includes a positive electrode mixture. The positive electrode mixture contains a nickel compound and a metal compound. The nickel compound is a positive electrode active material The metal compound is a compound of at least one metal element selected from the group consisting of titanium, niobium, tungsten, vanadium, molybdenum, zirconium, and tantalum. A ratio Wm/Wn of a mass Wm of the metal compound contained in the positive electrode mixture to a mass Wn of the nickel compound contained in the positive electrode mixture in terms of nickel hydroxide ranges from 0.2/100 to 5.0/100. The metal compound contains iron at a mass ratio ranging from 10 ppm to 10000 ppm. A ratio We/Wp of a mass We of the alkaline electrolyte to a mass Wp of the positive electrode mixture ranges from 0.35 to 1.0.

This negative electrode for a zinc battery comprises a nonporous current collector and a negative electrode mixture layer which is held by the current collector and contains at least one of zinc, a zinc alloy, and a zinc-containing compound.
