AN ANTENNA
An antenna for a communication device is disclosed. The antenna has a structure including a ground plane and a lid component. The lid component is conductive, substantially planar and has a planform shape which is lesser in a first lid component dimension (L.sub.1) than it is in a second lid component dimension (L.sub.2) perpendicular to the first lid component dimension (L.sub.1). The ground plane is conductive and substantially planar, and the size of the ground plane is greater than the size of the lid component. The lid component is conductively connected to the ground plane but also spaced apart from the ground plane, such that there is a space between the lid component and the ground plane, and the antenna is center fed.
Balanced antenna
A balance antenna is disclosed herein. The balanced antenna comprises a first planar conductor layer forming an first infinite balun, a second planar conductor layer forming a second infinite balun, and a feeding gap. A cable transports a radio signal from the antenna to a radio and from a radio to the antenna. The first infinite balun and the second infinite balun transform an unbalanced transmission line characteristic of the cable to the balanced feeding of the antenna.

Circularly polarized omni-directional antenna
Provided are examples of circularly polarized omni-directional antennas and methods of fabrication. In one aspect, an antenna comprises a central radiating element including a vertical center axis. The antenna further comprises a plurality of conducting elements surrounding the central radiating element. The plurality of conducting elements are curved about a circular circumference about the center axis and spaced equidistantly about the circular circumference. The central radiating element may be a sleeved dipole type. The plurality of conducting elements is configured to include an angle of tilt between 22 degrees and 68 degrees from horizontal. The plurality of conducting elements is located within a printed circuit board that is wrapped around the circumference around the center axis. Each conducting element of the plurality of conducting elements comprises a metallic wire.

Visual interfaces for telephone calls
Incoming calls are received from audio capable devices. A call processing server receives an incoming call from an audio-capable device to a destination number, and detects availability for an ancillary source device linked to the audio-capable device. A set of data is provided to the ancillary source device. The set of data specifies graphical menu options for functions supported by the call processing server. The ancillary source device provides an indication of a selection of one of the graphical menu options. In response to the indication, a call transfer for the incoming call is implemented.
COMPACT ANTENNA DEVICE
This device has a ground plane at floating potential; at least one dipole antenna, extending through the ground plane, and comprising first and second strands extending on either side of the ground plane; and a control circuit, arranged on the ground plane in order to control the or each dipole antenna.
Antenna system for wireless communication devices and other wireless applications
An antenna system for wireless communications and other wireless applications is disclosed. In one particular embodiment, the antenna system may comprise a frame with at least three facets and an antenna element mounted on each of the at least three facets, wherein each of the antenna elements are electromagnetically isolated from each other.
Antenna structure for use with a horizontally polarized signal
The invention is directed to an antenna structure for producing a horizontally polarized beam. In one embodiment, the antenna structure includes a first quarter-wave patch antenna and a second quarter-wave patch antenna that are positioned such that the ground planes of the patch antennas or a ground plane shared by the patch antennas is disposed between the patches of the two antennas and the shorting structures associated with the antennas are substantially aligned. In operation, the antenna structure is capable of processing an omni-directional, horizontally polarized beam.
X2 protocol programmability
A method for X2 interface communication is disclosed, comprising: at an X2 gateway for communicating with, and coupled to, a first and a second radio access network (RAN), receiving messages from the first RAN according to a first X2 protocol and mapping the received messages to a second X2 protocol for transmission to the second RAN; maintaining state of one of the first RAN or the second RAN at the X2 gateway; executing executable code received at an interpreter at the X2 gateway as part of the received messages; altering the maintained state based on the executed executable code; and receiving and decoding an initial X2 message from the first RAN; identifying specific strings in the initial X2 message; matching the identified specific strings in a database of stored scripts; and performing a transformation on the initial X2 message, the transformation being retrieved from the database for stored scripts, the stored scripts being transformations.
