Other embodiments are disclosed.
Low profile telecommunications antenna
A telecommunications antenna comprising a plurality of unit cells each including at least one radiator which transmits RF energy within a bandwidth range which is a multiple of another radiator. The radiators are proximal to each other such that a resonant condition may be induced into the at least one radiator upon activation of the other radiator. At least one of the radiators is segmented into capacitively-connected radiator elements to suppress a resonance response therein upon activation of the other of the radiator.

Beam management enhancement for FR2 with V-Pol/H-Pol virtualization
Various systems and methods disclosed herein describe improvements for beam management that leverage virtualization across a vertical polarization (V-Pol) and horizontal polarization (H-Pol). One or more of a user equipment (UE) and a base station may include an antenna array comprising V-Pol antenna elements and H-Pol antenna elements. The UE may determine a number of receive (Rx) beam of an Rx beam sweep are needed, signal this number to the base station, and perform the beam sweep according to one or both of the V-Pol and H-Pol. A UE may use group based beam reporting to indicate to the base station a transmit (Tx) beam upon which downlink MIMO using V-Pol and H-Pol may be supported by reporting a same transmission configuration indication (TCI) corresponding to the Tx beam for both a first Rx beam and a second Rx beam in a group based beam reporting message.
Broadband metamaterial enabled electromagnetic absorbers and polarization converters
An electromagnetic energy absorber comprising a thin electrically-conductive ground plane as a base. Dielectric layers are positioned over the ground plane and high impedance surface (HIS) as a top layer. The impedance layer can be formed by loading the lumped resistor to a metallic grating like an FSS (Frequency Selective Surface). An air-spacer between the substrates has replaced the problem of the large electrical thickness of the substrate with effective permittivity. Metamaterial structures enable control over the resonant frequencies, and performance is enhanced over a broad frequency band. In addition, two broadband reflective-type linear to orthogonal polarization converters are disclosed that provide improved bandwidth and angular stability performance.
