A connection element for a circuit board that includes electronic components or LED illuminants on a top side and that includes contact fields on a bottom side which are used at least for supplying electrical voltage to the electronic components that are arranged on the circuit board, the connection element including a receiving element that includes a contact surface for the circuit board and pressure contacts configured to contact the contact fields of the circuit board and connection contacts configured to connect connection conductors that provide electrical voltage; and a cover element that supports the circuit board on the receiving element, wherein the cover element is arranged at the receiving element and pivotable about a pivot axis, wherein the cover element is movable between an open position and a closed position, wherein the cover element facilitates a placement of the circuit board onto the contact surface of the receiving element in the open position of the cover element, and wherein the cover element supports the circuit board between the cover element and the receiving element in the closed position of the cover element.

An electrical connection system includes various devices and structures for improving alien crosstalk performance in a high density configuration. In certain examples, a plurality of insulation displacement contacts of a connector are arranged at angle and oriented to be symmetrical about an axial of the connector. The connector includes a connector housing and a shield cap configured to at least partially cover the connector housing. The shield cap includes a shield wall and an open side that is not closed by a shield wall. The shield wall exposes a portion of the connector when the shield cap is mounted to the connector housing. When a plurality of such connectors are arranged side by side in a high density configuration, the connectors are aligned such that the open side of the shield cap is arranged close to, or abutted to, the shield wall of the shield cap of an adjacent connector.

An electrical connection system includes various devices and structures for improving alien crosstalk performance in a high density configuration. A contact member for an insulation displacement contact (IDC) terminal includes an encasement wall at least partially surrounding a receptacle volume receiving a wire or cable, an IDC member having an IDC blade penetrating an insulation of the wire or cable and a contact edge electrically contacting a core of the wire or cable, and a cutting blade cutting the wire or cable. The receptacle volume has an opening at least partially framed by the encasement wall. The IDC member is formed in a first wall section of the encasement wall. The cutting blade is formed in a second wall section of the encasement wall opposite the first wall section. Both the IDC blade and the cutting blade face the opening.
