An assembly comprising a body (50) defining an aperture (52), and an electrode (10) comprising a portion (54) within the aperture (52), the assembly further comprising a lead (12) comprising a section (56) which is secured inside the aperture (52) by a first interference fit between the body (50) and the portion (54) of the electrode (10). The aperture (52) may comprise a first open end (58) and a second open end (60), wherein the electrode (10) extends through the first open end (58), and the lead (12) extends through the second open end (60). In which case, the electrode (10) may plug the first end (58) by a second interference fit between the body (50) and the (portion (54) of the electrode (10). The portion (54) of the electrode (12) may comprise a tapered section (62) against which the section (56) of the lead (12) is secured.

A terminal of the present disclosure is to be connected to a mating terminal and includes a tube portion and a wire connecting portion provided on a rear end part of the tube portion. A resilient contact piece is provided inside the tube portion. The resilient contact piece presses the mating terminal inserted from front of the tube portion toward an inner wall of the tube portion. An upper inspection opening and a lower inspection opening are formed in side walls of the tube portion. The upper inspection opening is formed on an upper side. The lower inspection opening is formed on a lower side (other side). The resilient contact piece is partially exposed from the upper and lower inspection openings with an optical path of light entering from either one of the upper or lower inspection opening and coming out from the other secured.

A female terminal (12) to be connected to an end of a wire (11) is provided with a wire connecting portion (19) including a base (22) and first and second pinching portions (14, 15) extending along an extending direction from the base (22) and configured to pinch the wire (11), and a sliding portion (18) movable along the extending direction and including first pressing portions (16A, 16B) and second pressing portions (17A, 17B) for pressing the first and second pinching portions (14, 15) toward the wire (11) by coming into contact with the first and second pinching portions (14, 15). The first pressing portions (16A, 16B) and the second pressing portions (17A, 17B) project toward the first and second pinching portions (14, 15) and are side by side at an interval in a direction intersecting the extending direction.

A connector includes a pushing member including a projection and a pushing member-side flange formed at a root portion of the projection, and a contact having a projection accommodating portion, the pushing member-side flange including a pair of fixing portions separately arranged on opposite sides of the root portion of the projection across the projection, when the projection is inserted into the projection accommodating portion together with the flexible conductor with a part of the flexible conductor being laid along a lateral surface of the projection being fixed by the pair of fixing portions, the part of the flexible conductor laid along the lateral surface of the projection being sandwiched between the lateral surface of the projection and an inner surface of the projection accommodating portion to contact the inner surface of the projection accommodating portion, whereby the contact is electrically connected to the flexible conductor.

TAP POWER CONNECTOR ASSEMBLY

A power connector assembly transferring power between a supply connector assembly and a tap connector assembly includes a front interface module mated with the supply connector assembly and a rear interface module mounted to a host circuit board. The power connector assembly includes a power tap module between the front interface module and the rear interface module having power tap contacts each electrically connected to corresponding front and rear power contacts. Each power tap contact includes a tap interface exterior of the front housing and exterior of the rear housing configured to be terminated to the tap connector assembly. The power tap contact electrically connecting the front power contact and the tap connector assembly to transfer power from the supply connector assembly to the tap connector assembly.

The present invention provides an improved wedge connector removal tool for disconnecting a transmission or distribution line wedge tap connection and the methods of using such a tool. The tool may couple to a wedge connector around the transmission or distribution lines enabling a lineman's hands to be free from supporting the tool, and the wedge may be removed from the connection without the incorporation of powder charges.

A terminal to be connected to a front end part in an extending direction of a wire is provided with a terminal body including a sandwiching portion for sandwiching the wire, and a slide portion slidable along the extending direction of the wire with respect to the terminal body. The slide portion includes a pressurizing portion for pressurizing the sandwiching portion toward the wire. The terminal body is formed by a metal plate material in a bent state. The sandwiching portion includes a holding protrusion projecting toward the wire to contact the wire. The holding protrusion is formed by folding a tip portion of the sandwiching portion and overlapping the tip portion on an overlapping portion of the sandwiching portion. A first facing surface of the overlapping portion and a second facing surface of the tip portion are facing each other and overlapped.

Provided is a terminal 12 connected to an extending-direction front end of an electric wire 11, said terminal comprising a terminal body 15 having a grip section for gripping the electric wire 11 and a slide section 16 slidable with respect to the terminal body 15 along the extending direction of the electric wire 11. The slide section 16 has a press part for pressing the grip section toward the electric wire 11. The terminal body 15 is formed from a folded metal plate material. The grip section has a holding protrusion part which protrudes toward the electric wire 11 so as to be in contact with the electric wire 11 and which is formed by folding a leading-end part of the grip section such that the leading-end part overlaps with an overlap part 18B1 of the grip section. A first facing surface 60 of the overlap part 18B1 and a second facing surface 61 of the leading-end part overlap face-to-face with each other, with a first fitting part 62 provided on the first facing surface 60 and a second fitting part 63 provided on the second facing surface 61 being fitted together in an interdigitating manner.
