The sleeve has a forward portion that extends beyond the forward end of the nut by a length such that the sleeve is configured to contact an outer surface of the interface port before a center conductor of the coaxial cable contacts the interface port, and the sleeve is configured to align the connector with the port and to prevent the center conductor from contacting any portion of the interface port other than a center conductor contact portion of the interface port.

CONNECTOR HAVING A GROUNDING MEMBER

A connector includes a body having a central bore and a first grounding contact surface, a post disposed within the central bore and having an outwardly projecting flange configured to produce a first portion of a mating interface, and a conductive coupler. The post portion has a tubular sleeve configured to mechanically and electrically engage a prepared end of a coaxial cable. The conductive coupler has an engagement surface at a first end configured to mechanically and electrically engage an interface port, a lip at a second end configured to produce a second portion of the mating interface, and a second grounding contact surface opposing the first grounding contact surface. The first and second portions are configured to slide along the mating interface to rotate about an elongate axis of the connector. The connector includes a conductive ring disposed between the first and second grounding contact surfaces and configured to produce an electrical path between the body and the conductive coupler.

Push-on coaxial connector

A male F-type coaxial cable connector including a nut, a body, a post, and a spacer, the spacer for bearing on the nut.

Coaxial connector having a breakaway compression ring and torque member

A connector includes a body having a cable receiving end configured to receive the end of the coaxial cable, a coupler configured to be coupled with and to rotate relative to the body, and a compression ring including a forward sleeve portion and a rearward outer ring portion attached to one another by a plurality of tabs. The forward sleeve portion is configured to be coupled to the cable receiving end of the body, and the plurality of tabs are configured to shear so as to separate the rearward outer ring portion from the forward sleeve portion when a torque for rotating the compression ring relative to the body exceeds a desired torque. The rearward outer ring includes an inner opening when separated from the forward sleeve portion, the separated rearward outer ring is configured to be slidingly moved relative to the body and the coupler, and the inner opening is configured to fit over the coupler such that the rearward outer ring is configured to be a torque assist member.

Coupler between a coaxial connector and a coaxial cable

A coupler (100; 100′) between a first coaxial connector and a coaxial cable (10) has a first coaxial connector with an inner conductor (2), at least one hollow cylindrical insulator part (27; 271, 272) and a hollow cylindrical outer conductor (1) and a first spring sleeve (9) for accommodating an outer conductor (11) of the coaxial cable (10), which spring sleeve is connected to the outer conductor (1) of the first coaxial connector. In addition, the coupler (100; 100′) in accordance with the invention has a locking device, which is axially movable relative to a longitudinal axis of the first coaxial connector and is supported on a conically realized outer surface (20) at a distal end of the first spring sleeve (9). The outer conductor (1) of the first coaxial connector is connected to the locking device via a bayonet connection.

Coaxial cable connectors having an integrated biasing feature

A coaxial cable connector includes a nut having a seal-grasping surface portion and a seal having an elastically deformable tubular body attached to the nut. The body has a posterior end with a sealing surface that cooperatively engages the seal-grasping surface portion of the nut and an anterior end with a forward sealing surface configured to cooperatively engage an interface port. The nut defines a first through hole extending in the longitudinal direction and configured to receive a center conductor of a coaxial cable. The anterior end of the seal defines a second through hole extending in the longitudinal direction and configured to receive a center conductor of a coaxial cable. A center axis of the first through hole and a center axis of the second through hole are offset from one another such that the anterior end the seal is configured to urge at least the center conductor of the coaxial cable to an off-center position of the second through hole when the nut is coupled with the interface port thereby creating radial interference between the nut and the interface port. The nut is urged to make contact with the interface port whenever mounted thereon, thus maintaining electrical grounding between the nut and the port, even when the nut is loosely coupled with the interface port.
