One embodiment is directed to a method of reading RFID tags in an interconnection system comprising at least one port. The method comprises initiating a localized read transaction to read any RFID tag attached to a first connector and any RFID tag attached to a second connector inserted into the port. The method further comprises, as a part of the localized read transaction, reading any RFID tag configured to respond to a first type of RFID interrogation signal, wherein the first connector comprises an attached RFID tag that is configured to respond to the first type of RFID interrogation signal; and, as a part of the localized read transaction, reading any RFID tag configured to respond to a second type of RFID interrogation signal, wherein the second connector comprises an attached RFID tag that is configured to respond to the second type of RFID interrogation signal. Other embodiments are disclosed.
Hybrid connection system having separately sealed plug and receptacle chambers
A connector mating system that can enable the coupling and decoupling of electrical or optical power and communications channels, while in a harsh or submerged environment during which time the contacting interfaces of the power and communication channels remain fully protected from the destructive effects of the said environment. The system features a hybrid optic and/or electric connector that provides a means for electrical, optical and hybrid inter connection within an extremely hostile environment across a broad market range of applications with a novel end-seal concept in a scalable form factor with minimal actuation stresses and designed for high volume commodity manufacturing.
Break-away tractor-trailer cable connector
An electrical connector for connecting a tractor-trailer electrical cable to a truck tractor or a trailer electrical system includes a housing defining an interior space and having a mounting flange extending radially therefrom at a head end, at least one locking tab at the head end, and a wall dividing the interior space into a head end space and a foot end space, the wall having a plurality of holes in an array, a plurality of terminal pins secured against movement in the holes in the wall and extending from the foot end space into the head end space and a connector body having an outer wall configured to slide into the head end space of the housing.
LOW PASSIVE INTERMODULATION COAXIAL CONNECTOR TEST INTERFACE
A coaxial RF test connector comprises an inner conductor and an outer conductor arranged coaxially with respect to a center axis. The outer conductor includes a groove dimensioned to hold a circularly shaped contact spring. The contact spring includes a base portion and a plurality of arc-shaped contact fingers extending from the base with gaps between the individual contact fingers. The base has a radius larger than that at which the contact fingers are bent. The contact fingers have first contact section for contacting the outer conductor of a compatible coaxial connector in a direction radial to the center axis, and a second contact section for capacitively coupling to a sidewall of the groove.
ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR WITH IMPROVED WATERPROOF PERFORMANCE
an electrical connector comprises: an insulative housing and a plurality of terminals retained in the insulative housing. The insulative housing has a base portion and a mating tongue. The mating tongue comprises a stepped portion extending from the base portion and a tongue portion extending from the stepped portion. The insulative housing defines an outer periphery. The stepped portion defines a front face. The base portion defines a rear face. The terminal defines a connecting portion buried in the base portion and the stepped portion, a contacting portion extending from the connecting portion. The insulative housing defines a sealing member filling in the periphery of the connecting portion. The sealing member not extends out the front face of the stepped portion, the rear face of the base portion and the out periphery of the insulative housing. It is favorable for improving the waterproof effect of the electric connector.
ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR HAVING EXCELLENT WATERPROOF PROPERTY
An electrical connector includes a terminal module, a shielding shell surrounding the terminal module to form a mating cavity opening forwardly and a waterproof member disposed at a rear side of the mating cavity. The terminal module has an insulative housing and a plurality of conductive terminals retained in the insulative housing. The insulative housing has a base portion and a mating portion extending forwardly from the base portion. The shielding shell has a metallic shell and a waterproof shell formed integrally with the metallic shell by insert molding. The mating portion extends into the mating cavity. The waterproof shell defines an opening hole to which the waterproof member is exposed.
ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR HAVING EXCELLENT WATERPROOF PROPERTY
An electrical connector includes a terminal module and a shielding shell surrounding the terminal module. The terminal module has an insulative housing and a plurality of conductive terminals retained in the insulative housing. The shielding shell has a metallic shell and a waterproof shell insert molded on an outer side of the metallic shell. The metallic shell surrounds the insulative housing to form a mating cavity opening forwardly. The shielding shell has a sealing member disposed between the metallic shell and the waterproof shell and a retaining member disposed at a rear side of the waterproof shell. The retaining member is separate from the sealing member. The metallic shell defines an opening slot going therethrough. The sealing member covers the opening slot. The retaining member defines a mounting leg.
