Watertight Plug Assembly
A watertight plug assembly for electrical cords. One cord is connected to one plug end having a plug end proximal face and a sidewall. The sidewall includes a first mating member adjacent the proximal face. The second plug end is connected to a second cord and includes a cap having a central cavity for receiving the second plug end and which defines a second mating member to cooperate with the first mating member when said plug ends are connected to provide a watertight connection.
Safety system, apparatus and method
An apparatus for use with an item of personal protective equipment, where the item of personal protective equipment includes a sensor configured to detect when the personal protective equipment is being worn properly by the user. The apparatus is housed within a hand-held power tool that includes a power circuit. The apparatus includes an electrical isolation device configured to prevent current flow in at least one conductor included in the power circuit; a wireless communication device configured to wirelessly couple to a wireless communication device included in the personal protective equipment. The wireless communication device is configured to receive a wireless signal transmitted from the wireless communication device included the personal protective equipment, the wireless signal providing information concerning whether the user is wearing the item of personal protective equipment properly. The electrical isolation device operates to allow current flow in the at least one conductor when the information provided by the wireless signal indicates that the item of personal protective equipment is being worn properly by the user.
Breakaway Connectors for Coaxial Cables
A breakaway coaxial cable connector includes a conductive body configured to engage a cable. The conductive body is configured to be selectively coupled to an interface port to maintain electrical connectivity between the cable and the interface during operation of the connector when a first tension force below a predetermined threshold level is applied between the cable and the interface port, and the conductive body is configured to be selectively de-coupled from the interface port so as to interrupt electrical connectivity between the cable and the interface port during operation of the connector when a second tension force above the predetermined threshold level is applied between the cable and the interface port.
FRICTIONAL LOCKING RECEPTACLE WITH PROGRAMMABLE RELEASE
A method and apparatus for securing an electrical connection formed by a mating structure including prongs of a male assembly and receptacles of a female assembly are provided. In certain embodiments, the electrical connection can be secured by frictional engagement between the plug and receptacle housings. This can be accomplished by forcing a wedge into an interface between the housings or expanding a locking element, such as an elastomeric ring, into the interface. Such locking and releasing of the secure connection can be actuated using a locking nut.
Cord restraint for electrical cords
A device and method for holding an electrical cord, such as a cellular phone charging cord, so that the electrical cord is easily restrained, located and retrieved. The device may be constructed of a flexible body that may be in any desirable shape. The body is provided with a slit that extends some distance, and in some embodiments, approximately halfway through the body. An electrical cord can be inserted through the slit. At the center of the body, the slit is enlarged to form a channel for receiving the cord. With the cord thus secured within the channel, the body makes the cord easier to find and less likely to slip or fall off of a surface where the cord is to be placed.
CORD RETAINER
A cord retainer is configured to be detachably disposed on an electronic device. The cord retainer includes a hook portion, a connection portion, and a clamp portion. The hook portion is configured to be fastened to the handle of the electronic device. The hook portion may be a tubular structure that extends along an extension direction.
The connection portion is connected to the hook portion. The clamp portion is connected to the connection portion, and is configured to retain a cord attached on the electronic device. The clamp portion may be a plate structure that extends along an extension plane that is parallel to the extension direction.
Electric receptacle with locking feature
An electrical receptacle unit with locking feature includes a receptacle adapted to be electrically connected to a source of electricity. The receptacle includes an electrical fitting having electrical contacts contained therein and/or extending therefrom, a socket surrounding the electrical fitting, and a plate disposed at a front of the socket. The electrical receptacle unit further includes a locking bracket that includes a central portion having first and second ends, a lock tab extending from a side of the central portion, and a pair of support arms, each extending forwardly from a respective one of the first and second ends. The locking bracket is pivotably secured to the plate, with at least a portion of each support arm positioned within a respective notched area of the plate. The locking bracket is pivotable relative to the plate between a first position, whereby a plug electrically seated within the socket is unobstructed, and a second position, whereby the plug electrically seated within the socket is obstructed from removal by the lock tab.
IN-LINE CONNECTOR LOCKING SYSTEM
An in-line connector locking system includes an elongated, generally hollow first sleeve member having an open first end, a closed second end and a plurality of threaded elements positioned along the outside surface. The system also includes an elongated, generally hollow second sleeve member having an open first end, a closed second end and a plurality of complementary threaded elements located along the length of the hollow interior surface. The first and second sleeve members are removably secured together via a twisting motion and encompass an in-line connector. A mounting clip is provided for securing the first sleeve, second sleeve and in-line connector to an external structure.
Cable clamp for a charging cable of an electric vehicle charging station
A cable clamp for a charging cable of an electric vehicle charging station. The cable clamp includes a first clamping piece and a second clamping piece that is complementary to the first clamping piece. The first clamping piece and the second clamping piece are adapted to be secured together and adapted to grip the charging cable of the electric vehicle charging station that passes through the first clamping piece and the second clamping piece. The shape of the first clamping piece and the second clamping piece includes a curved portion that forces the charging cable of the electric vehicle charging station to exit the electric vehicle charging station at a predetermined exit angle.
Method and Device for Keeping Cables Joined
A device and method for keeping cables joined are provided in which a base (12) includes a plug opening (14) and at least two cable openings (16 and 18). Plugs (26 and 28) of cables (22 and 24) are passed through the plug opening (14) and join on one side of the base (12). Cables (22 and 24) pass though respective cable openings (16 and 18). Protrusions (20) may extend into the cable openings (16 and 18).
