A semiconductor device for determining whether a foreign substance (e.g., water) is present and a method of operating the same are provided. The semiconductor device includes a receptacle including a plurality of pins according to a USB type-C receptacle interface; a first current source providing first current to a CC1 signal pin or a CC2 signal pin among the plurality of pins in a first operation mode; a second current source providing second current to the CC1 signal pin or the CC2 signal pin in a second operation mode; a third current source providing third current to at least two pins of other pins excluding the CC1 signal pin and the CC2 signal pin; and a power delivery integrated circuit (PDIC) controlling the first current source, the second current source and the third current source and detecting the voltage level of a signal outputted to the plurality of pins.

Electrical current connector

Various embodiments are described that relate an electrical current connector. The electrical current connector can be configured to provide electrical current when pressure is applied to a prong set. This pressure can cause a contact to engage with a connector. This can complete a circuit that allows the electrical current to flow. The connector can be coupled to a cable that can be configured to transfer data along with the electrical current. The cable can have an inner portion that transfers the data while an outer portion that surrounds the inner portion transfers the current.

Anti-electric shock structure and socket

The present disclosure provides an anti-electric shock structure and a socket. In a non-conductive state, the two conductive pieces are respectively arranged in front of the elastic piece parts of the two conductive contact pieces at intervals. A first socket is formed in the jack part. When a plug is plugged into the first socket, one plug blade of the plug extrudes the sliding mechanism to push the two elastic piece parts, so that the two elastic piece parts can touch the conductive pieces. When a non-plug conductive object is inserted into the first socket, the conductive contact pieces cannot conduct electricity because the conductive object cannot push the sliding mechanism to the position where the elastic piece parts are in contact with the conductive pieces, so that the anti-electric shock structure has a good anti-electric shock function.

A wireless power feeding device includes an attachment member having a socket to be electrically connected to a power supply and a fastener to be electrically connected to a ground, and a band having a socket pin to be inserted to the socket and a locking tool to be locked to the fastener, the band being attached to the attachment member and fixing a power receiving device to which power is to be wirelessly fed to the attachment member, wherein the socket pin has a power feeding electrode to be electrically connected to the power supply within the socket, and a ground connection sensing electrode to be electrically connected to the ground via the locking tool and the fastener, and the attachment member has a switch circuit electrically connecting the power supply to the power feeding electrode only when the ground connection sensing electrode is electrically connected to the ground.

Reuse of plug detection contacts to reduce crosstalk

An audio jack may include two contacts to electrically connect to a ground contact of an audio plug in order to detect that a metallic audio plug is inserted into the audio jack. A first of these two contacts may be grounded to form a current return path that generates a ground voltage at the ground contact of the audio plug. The second of these two contacts may be repurposed after the detection to sense the ground voltage. The sensed ground voltage may be added to right and left audio signals. The net voltages provided to the audio plug may be right and left audio signals that include the sensed ground voltage minus the actual ground voltage at the ground contact of the audio plug. This may remove the ground voltage from the net audio output signals, which may reduce crosstalk.
