PRESSURE MEASURING DEVICE FOR CRIMPING TOOL
20210086335 · 2021-03-25 ·

Pressure gauges according to this invention provide pressure measurement on all brands of crimping tools, including 6-Ton D3 tools. In particular, this design eliminates the need to remove the tool crimp head to measure the pressure of the crimping tool. Additionally, this design eliminates the need to install additional dedicated fixtures on the crimping tool to measure the ram pressure. This design incorporates a self-centering profile to avoid side-loading when mounting the pressure gauge in the crimping tool. The dial indicator on pressure gauges of this invention captures and holds the maximum pressure reading with the use of a simple manual lever. The lever can be easily reset for the next pressure reading. Pressure gauges according to various embodiments of this invention include dual piston pressure sensors. Additionally, pressure measurement is accomplished with a simple hydro mechanical manometer display.

An assembly comprises a compression member configured to receive a force input from a compression tool and a frame including a cradle at one end, an end fitting at the other, and at least one structural member linking the cradle to the end fitting. The cradle is configured to engage one end of the connector and receives the prepared end of the coaxial cable. The end fitting is configured to detachably connect the frame to the compression tool and includes an aperture for receiving the force input from the compression tool. The structural member defines at least one surface configured to guide the compression member along the axis in response to the force input. The compression member imposes an axial force on the other end of the connector and is guided along the axis by the guide surface of the frame.

Set of interchangeable crimp units

The present invention relates to a set of interchangeable crimp units for a crimping machine. According to the invention each crimp unit comprises an integrated sensor for measuring a crimping force or a crimping displacement during the crimping process.

Single compression multiple impression crimp tool

A crimp tool is disclosed that creates a plurality of impressions on a connector to secure metal to the connector using a single compression of the connector. The crimp tool includes a plurality of die. Each die including a plurality of impression teeth used to create the plurality of impressions on the connector.

CRIMPING APPARATUS AND SYSTEM FOR CRIMPING A FLEXIBLE PRINTED CIRCUIT

A crimping apparatus comprising a press module connected with a pressing mold, a translation module, and a pressure control module is disclosed. The press module generates an action force on the pressing mold through a fluid. The translation module is coupled to the press module for driving the press module to move toward a flexible printed circuit having two isolated circuit layers such that one circuit layer is pressed to crimp to the other circuit layer, wherein the pressure control module adjusts the pressure within the press module to maintain a constant force on the pressing mold whereby the pressing mold can generate a constant stress acting on the flexible printed circuit during the crimping process. In addition, the crimping apparatus can be adapted in a roll-to-roll process for crimping two isolated circuit layers of each flexible printed circuit unit arranged on the roll.

CABLE PROCESSING APPARATUS

A crimping cassette for a crimping device of a cable processing apparatus includes a crimping tool having stationary and movable tool parts configured to act together in a crimping operation of the crimping device. The crimping cassette further includes a holding device having at least two claws for attaching to a mounting part in a mounting area of the claws, the mounting part being directly or indirectly fixed to the stationary tool part. The holding device has a locked closed position in which the claws are firmly clamped to the mounting part; an unlocked closed position in which the claws loosely grip the mounting part for allowing an adjustment movement of the stationary tool part within a spatially limited adjustment range; and an open position in which the claws release the mounting part such that the stationary tool part is separable from the holding device.

4-way indent tool

A 4-way indent tool includes a cover holding a motor and a drive screw operably coupled to the motor and an indenter holder holding four indenters positioned orthogonally around a terminal opening configured to receive a terminal. The 4-way indent tool includes a indenter actuator cam arm positioned adjacent the indenter holder to operably engage the indenters having cam surfaces engaging the corresponding indenters to actuate the indenters. The 4-way indent tool includes a drive nut threadably coupled to the drive screw being moved linearly on the drive screw between an unactuated position and an actuated position. The indenter actuator cam arm is coupled to the drive nut and moves with the drive nut between the unactuated position and the actuated position to actuate the indenters.

POWER TOOL WITH CRIMP LOCALIZATION

Portable, hand-held, battery operated, hydraulic tools are provided with a tool frame, a force sensor, and a location detector. A piston actuated by a hydraulic system within the tool frame applies force to the working head to perform a task, such as to apply a crimp to an electrical connector. The tool determines the maximum force applied to the crimp and records that maximum force along with the geographic location of the tool when the crimp was formed. The maximum force provides an indication of the quality of the crimp and the recorded location allows a potentially defective crimp to be located.
