Multi-pulse amplification
Chirped pulse amplification (CPA) systems configured to generate and amplify multi-pulses are described. The nonlinear interaction of pulses can generate a multiple pulse pack with a dense time separation between pulses. Reducing or eliminating the nonlinear interaction can be provided by spectrally and/or temporally splitting pulses in the chirped amplification system.
METHODS AND APPARATUS FOR MEASURING AND LOCKING ULTRA-FAST LASER PULSES
Methods and devices are described for performing an all-phase measurement of an ultra-fast laser pulse having a spectral range of greater than one octave. The ultra-fast laser pulse may be split into a first beam comprising a fundamental light with a wavelength λ.sub.0 and a second beam comprising a light with a wavelength 2λ.sub.0. The light with the wavelength 2λ.sub.0 may be frequency doubled to a light with a wavelength λ.sub.0 to generate an interference with the fundamental light. Fourier transform may be performed on an interference spectrum of the interference, and a relative envelope delay (RED) between the fundamental light and the frequency doubled light and a carrier envelope phase (CEP) may be acquired based on a result of the Fourier transform.

A SIMPLE LASER WITH AN IMPROVED PUMP SYSTEM FOR GENERATING LASER PULSES ON DEMAND
The invention belongs to the field of lasers, more precisely to the field of constructional details of laser devices and laser devices for controlling intensity, frequency, length, polarization or direction of emitted rays. The present invention is an improved gain switched fiber laser, which enables changes of repetition frequency in a large range and which, at the same time, maintains a constant peak power and duration of generated laser pulses. The essence of the laser according to the invention is the pump system which is coupled to an oscillator and pumps the oscillator as well as the amplifier. The pump system comprises a primary and a secondary pump module, each at least with one pump laser diode, wherein the primary module generates short pump pulses and wherein the primary and secondary pump module operate at different peak powers. The power generated by the secondary module can be directly used to decrease the effect of active medium relaxation via spontaneous emission in-between laser pulses, which enables generation of short laser pulses on demand having constant parameters.

Laser device and photoacoustic measurement apparatus
A Q switch is vibrated by applying a first voltage, and pulsed laser light is emitted by applying a second voltage to the Q switch at a point in time at which a preset delay time has passed from the start of emission of excitation light. Then, in this case, a time which is within a period, for which the vibration of the Q switch continues, and at which the intensity of the pulsed laser light periodically changing due to the vibration of the Q switch is maximized in a case where a point in time of application of the second voltage to the Q switch is changed is set as the delay time.
