CONNECTION JOINT FOR CABLES FOR A CABLE STRINGING PLANT
Connection joint for cables for a cable stringing plant, comprising at least one first tubular element (18) to which a first segment (22) of a flexible member (19) is attached and positioned rotatable, at least with respect to a longitudinal axis (L) of the joint, inside a second tubular element (23) open at a first end and closed at the other end by a bottom wall (25); the bottom wall (25) comprises at least one hole (26) from which a second segment (27) of the flexible member (19) emerges; the second segment (27) is attached to a portion (32) of a third tubular element (31); the second and third tubular elements (23, 31) are provided on opposite ends with a corresponding hole (29, 35) directed substantially in a longitudinal direction and able to house a respective segment of cable (11a, 11b) to be laid.
Lighted tip for flexible rods
In one aspect, a lighted tip for attachment to a flexible rod comprises a tip body having proximal and distal ends, a mechanical connector at the proximal end, a lens connected to the distal end, a light source that emits light through the lens, and a holder coupled to the light source and the lens. A circuit is completed or interrupted as the holder moves in relation to the tip body, thereby switching the light source on or off. In another aspect, a lighted tip for attachment to a flexible rod comprises a lens forming a distal end of the lighted tip. The lens is cylindrical over at least some of its length, and the tip further includes a light source at least partially within the cylindrical lens portion and a mechanical connector at a proximal end if the lighted tip, for connecting the tip to the flexible rod.
PORTABLE DRILL PULLER
A puller in accordance with some example embodiments includes a frame and a capstan rotatably mounted on the frame. The capstan has a body having an angled wall portion and a movable end wall. A boom is mounted to the frame and has a head at an end thereof which can be positioned in a variety of positions.
Pulling Device for Flexible Conduit Tubing
A pipe pulling device guides extruded plastic conduit tubing through a building structure. The device has a fastener body including a main shaft supporting a resilient expansion sleeve thereon that can be inserted into an open end of the tubing. A nut is threaded onto the main shaft for axially compressing the expansion sleeve between the nut and a fastener head at the inner end of the main shaft to radially expand the sleeve within the tubing and frictionally grip the fastener body relative to the tubing. The nut is tapered outwardly and supports an elongate, rigid tip body extending longitudinally outward from the tubing to guide insertion of the tubing through cavities in the building structure. Various accessories can be secured to the nut or the tip body to assist insertion of the pipe pulling device through different building structures.
Cable installation detection
A method for use in connection with installing a cable into a conduit having a first conduit end and a second conduit end, comprising the steps of —providing the cable with a metallic attribute, —providing within or proximate to the conduit, sensing means for sensing the metallic attribute, —introducing the cable into the first conduit end and driving it towards the second conduit end and —detecting that the sensing means has sensed the metallic attribute by sensing a change in inductance levels of the sensing means.
Protection assembly for an elongate member deployed underwater
A protection assembly for mounting in an underwater support structure includes at least one bend protection device coupled to a retaining device so that together they provide a through-going passage for receiving an elongate member which is to be protected. The elongate member passes through a support structure opening, and the retaining device is configured to be received in the support structure opening and to engage with the support structure to resist subsequent withdrawal from it. Installation of the protection assembly includes grasping the protection assembly with a releasable clamp, arranging a pulling line to pass through the support structure opening to the mechanical clamp and securing the pulling line to the mechanical clamp, drawing the retaining device of the protection assembly into the support structure opening using the pulling line and engaging the retaining device with the support structure, and releasing the clamp from the protection assembly.
Wireless control in a cable feeder and puller system
A control module for controlling a cable pulling or feeding apparatus at one endpoint of a pulling operation and for wirelessly communicating with a cable feeding or pulling apparatus at an opposite endpoint. The control module includes a switch input to receive a start signal from a switch for initiating operation of the apparatus and an equipment output that connects to the pulling/feeding apparatus. A wireless communication interface communicates ready state or stop state messages to the other apparatus to coordinate a pulling operation. The control module operates in one of two modes: endpoint mode or repeater mode. In repeater mode, the control module may be positioned between the endpoints to extend the wireless communications between the endpoints.
Volume donating compressible filler system and method
Devices, systems and methods to prevent damage to power and communication conductors located in cold occurring regions, with an elongated cylindrical tubular assembly of closed cell foam within a braided/woven layer that can be sealed to provide longitudinal strength and a snag resistant durable and flexible outer coating. The assembly along with communication and power lines is pulled through new power and communication ducts and conduits and in retrofitting existing power and communication ducts, so that the assembly reduces the volume spacing in the ducts/conduits that can be damaged by water intrusion which expands during freeze conditions.
Cable retention device, system and method
A system for gripping the outside jacket of a cable including a flexible gripper having a serpentine shape, teeth on one side and retention channels on another side. The retention channels each receive a cable tie.
CABLE RETENTION DEVICE, SYSTEM AND METHOD
A system for gripping the outside jacket of a cable including a flexible gripper having a serpentine shape, teeth on one side and retention channels on another side. The retention channels each receive a cable tie.
