Apparatus for pushing conductors into conduit and other structures
An apparatus and methods for pushing conductors into conduit and other structures are disclosed. The apparatus (“pusher”) can include rollers to apply a pushing force to one or more conductors or bundles of conductors. One or more rollers can be coupled to a drive mechanism. The pusher is configured to pull conductors or bundles of conductors off of one or more spools, and push the conductors or bundles of conductors without de-bundling or sorting the conductors. The conductors can be fed through the pusher in any format including side-by-side, vertical on top of one another, twisted together, or other formats. The pusher can include a guiding device that is configured to route the conductors from the pusher to a conduit through which the conductors are being pushed or pulled.
Fish stick assembly
A fish stick includes a light emitting component, such as a lighted tip, near the leading end of the fish stick. The lighted tip includes a curved lens that directs some light around an attachment piece at the end of the fish stick and generally in the forward direction parallel to the longitudinal axis of the fish stick. The fish stick may be made of a phosphorescent material and stored in a lit container with an LED and reflective surfaces. The fish stick may be made of multiple rods that are threadably engaged with each other and include a spring biasing element that increases the coefficient of friction between the threads of the rods. The fish stick may also be made of multiple rods that are threadably engaged with each other via collars.
Device for capturing a line
A device for capturing a line passed into a cavity on a first side of a structure and retrieving the line through to a second side of the structure, the device comprising: (a) a first conduit adapted to define a pathway between the first and second sides of the structure and including: first and second lateral guide members that are opposed and each define a first surface that extends into and along the inside of the first conduit; (b) a mounting member for the first conduit; and (c) a resiliently flexible member capable of being passed through the first conduit and defining a stem portion and a loop portion in the cavity to capture said line.
WIRE PULLING GRIP
A wire pulling grip includes a main body, at least one cable-engaging jaw connected to the main body, and at least one cable-engaging surface included on the at least one cable-engaging jaw. A coating is disposed at least partially along the at least one cable-engaging surface, the coating including a plurality of surface protrusions arranged and configured to plastically deform an elastic cable jacket without slipping or tearing when a cable having the elastic cable jacket is engaged by the at least one cable-engaging jaw.
PORTABLE DRILL PULLER
A puller in accordance with some example embodiments includes a frame and a capstan rotatably mounted on the frame. The capstan has a body having an angled wall portion and a movable end wall. A boom is mounted to the frame and has a head at an end thereof which can be positioned in a variety of positions.
Cable distribution assembly
A cable distribution assembly is operable to reel in and pay out a cable through a bore. The alignment of the cable in relation to the cable distribution assembly adjusts to restrict contact between the cable and the bole edge. In this manner, friction between the cable and the bore edge, which may damage the cable, is restricted. A base positions adjacent to the bore, aligning the cable in relation to the bore edge. The base includes a concave contour that enables the cable to pass next to the base from a roller that carries the cable through the bore. A shaft drives the roller. Shaft regulators adjustably move horizontally and vertically along a shaft slot in a sidewall to dictate the position of the shaft and the roller that carries the cable. Fasteners secure the shaft regulator into place. A monitoring device provides information on the use of the assembly.
Cable snake
A cable snake and a method of assembling a cable snake. The cable snake may include a housing assembly defining a cavity; an actuator rotatably supported by the housing; and a tape operable to be wound into and unwound out of the cavity, the tape applying an unwinding force. A force may be applied to the actuator and the housing assembly, the force resisting the unwinding force. A retainer assembly may be provided between and integral with the actuator and the tape.
Multi-Size Sheath-Jacket Applicator
A tool and method for installing one or more wires or strand like material into a soft, flexible, longitudinally split sheath, wherein the tool is capable of handling multiple sizes of sheathing and multiple sizes of wires. The tool includes two openings of different sizes and shapes to receive both the sheath and the desired strand like material to be enclosed within. The tool uses the method of inserting both materials into their respective openings and pulling both materials simultaneously, while holding the tool steady, resulting in the installation of the outer sheath over the strand like material.
CABLE TOWING MACHINE AND CABLE LAYING METHOD
It is intended to provide a cable pulling machine that can avoid, even when installed at a high place, a stop of pulling and a cable installation method. A cable pulling machine according to the present invention includes two roller portions c having outer peripheries between which a cable a is to be held and a guide f that introduces the cable a between the roller portions c. The guide f adjusts an angle θ formed between a straight line connecting respective centers o of the roller portions c and the cable a introduced between the roller portions c to a value of not less than 45° and not more than 90°.
Fish tape
An ergonomic fish tape configured to house a fish tape in accordance with some example embodiments is provided. The fish tape includes a shell having an upper base wall, a lower base wall, an inner side wall extending between inner perimeters of the base walls and forming a central aperture through the shell, an outer side wall extending between outer perimeters of the base walls and defining an outer diameter of the shell, the walls defining a cavity therein, and a storage tray within the cavity. An opening through which the fish tape can pass is provided through the outer side wall. The fish tape case does not include a handle, and the walls of the shell are devoid of surfaces which would indicate or suggest to a user as to how to grip the fish tape case.
