A wire preparation device includes a motor, a device housing coupled to the motor, and a wire spinner held by the device housing. The wire spinner is mechanically connected to the motor via power coupling components. The wire spinner extends to a wire end that protrudes from the device housing. The wire spinner includes a collet sleeve defining a channel configured to receive an end of one or more wires of a cable therein through an opening at the wire end. The wire spinner further includes an outer collar surrounding the collet sleeve and selectively movable relative to the collet sleeve to force the collet sleeve to contract radially inward for releasably securing the one or more wires within the channel. The wire spinner is rotated by the motor relative to the device housing to untwist or straighten the one or more wires secured within the collet sleeve.

A method for robot-assisted wiring of electrical components of an electrical switchgear arranged on a mounting plate. The method includes providing a planning of a switchgear which has at least location information about a plurality of electrical components of the switchgear on a mounting plate and wiring information about a plurality of electrical wirings between every two of the electrical components. A cable routing is extracted including a cable source coordinate and cable destination coordinates and a routing path between the cable source coordinate and the cable destination coordinate from the wiring information for at least one of the plurality of wirings. Trajectory and/or vector points are generated along the cable routing and parameter to parameterize the trajectory and/or vector points to generate robot control.

A cable processing device includes a cable conveying device running along a machine longitudinal axis transporting a cable, and a cable changer selectively supplying cables for processing. The cable changer has two guide units for guiding and holding one cable each and being movable between inoperative and active positions. In the inoperative position, the guide unit is positioned outside the cable conveying device spaced from the machine axis. In the active position, the guide unit is positioned coaxially with the machine axis producing an operative connection to the cable conveying device. The guide units are movable independently of each other. When one of the guide units is moved from the inoperative position into the active position, the other guide unit remains positionally fixed in the inoperative position. When the guide units are both in their inoperative positions, they are positioned lying next to each other on a common horizontal plane.

A cable processing machine includes a cable processing station with a cable processing tool. An interface receives from a sensor at least one physical parameter value indicating a capability of the cable processing machine for executing a processing step. A capability determination component determines, based on the physical parameter, that the capability is insufficient. A voice instruction generator component generates voice instructions for an operator, relating to an action to be performed by operator for restoring capability of the cable processing machine to enable the execution of the cable processing step. Voice instructions are audio output generated on wearable audio device associated with operator, and sent to the audio output device. A confirm component receives confirmation that action for restoring the capability of the cable processing machine is complete, and the capability determination component validates restoration of the capability. The cable processing tool executes the processing step if capability is restored.
