The disclosure relates to a joint, termination or cross-connection arrangement for a cable. The arrangement includes a first cable and a protective casing. The arrangement further includes a transition sleeve. The transition sleeve is welded to the metallic sheath of the first cable. The transition sleeve is furthermore welded to the protective casing. Thereby, a water tight connection between the metallic sheath of the first cable and the protective casing is achieved without the need for used of lead containing materials. The disclosure further relates to a method of providing such an arrangement.

Telecommunications cable management component housing
Telecommunications cable management component housing assemblies that can be assembled without adhesive, and associated methods for assembling cable management component housings. The assembly includes a body and a lid that can be assembled together in a permanent or semi-permanent configuration. The body and the lid include complementary locking features. The lid is resiliently flexible to enable the lid to be assembled to the body. The body defines a cable management component housing volume that houses one or more cable management components, such as splitters, wave division multiplexors, and splices.
Gel sealing device
A gel sealing device includes a gel sealing block (5) which provides a sealing section (22) through which the elongate parts (13, 14) extend. The gel sealing block (5) includes an upper flange (11) and a lower flange (12) with a support section (11a, 12a, 12b) disposed therebetween. The upper and lower flanges (11, 12) sandwiches, in direction of extension of the elongate parts (13, 14), a gel inner ring (7) supported by said support section (2) and a gel outer ring (6, 10a) covering the gel inner ring (7) in a radial direction extending transverse to said extension direction. The gel inner ring (7) and the gel outer ring (6, 10a) are made of a gel sealing material.
Coiled Tubing Electrical Power Splice
A splice connects segments of coiled tubing and power cable together. The splice has a base and a head, each having an interior conical surface and a collet with fingers that deflect inward in gripping engagement with one of the segments in response to axial movement of the head collet and the base collet. A compression sleeve extends between the base collet and the head collet and exerts forces on the collets while the base and head are being secured together. An insulator tube slides over each of the power conductors. A retainer ring for each insulator tube grips one of the power conductors and abuts a shoulder in the insulator tube to prevent movement of the insulator tube along the power conductor.
LEAD ALLOY BARRIER TAPE SPLICE FOR DOWNHOLE POWER CABLE
A technique facilitates splicing of a power cable including splicing of a protective lead barrier. According to the technique, the power cable comprises conductors which form individual phases of a multi-phase conductor assembly. The conductors may be individually spliced for each phase of the multi-phase conductor assembly. Subsequently, splicing of the protective lead barrier may be performed by utilizing a lead based tape which is wrapped, e.g. helically wrapped, around the conductors. The wrapping technique provides a gas seal with respect to each individual insulated conductor within the multi-phase conductor assembly. Depending on the specifics of a given application and environment, additional layers may be added to ensure formation of a desirable splice.
VEHICLE
A vehicle includes a first power distribution branch unit disposed between an energy storage device and a power conversion device and configured to branch current from the energy storage device and supply the current to the power conversion device and an electric auxiliary machine. A travel motor and the power conversion device are supported by a sub frame. The energy storage device is supported by a main frame. The first power distribution branch unit is fixed to a part of a vehicle body that is different from the sub frame or the main frame (for example, fixed to a dashboard).
Multi-Dimensional, Flux-Excluding, Low-Inductance Electrical Interconnect
An apparatus includes an insert block which in turn includes contact elements to electrically couple to first conductors of a set of cables. The insert block also includes first interconnects, each first interconnect including a passage formed through the volume of the insert block. The apparatus also includes an insulator block coupled to the insert block and including second interconnects aligned to the set of first interconnects. The apparatus further includes a back plate coupled to the insulator block and including a set of third interconnects aligned to the set of first interconnects and the set of second interconnects. During use, the cables are disposable through the first interconnects, the second interconnects, and the third interconnects such that, for each cable, a second conductor of that cable is electrically insulated from the insert block and is electrically coupled to the back plate.
ASSEMBLY AS A JUNCTION BOX REPLACEMENT AND METHOD FOR INSTALLING SAID ASSEMBLY
An assembly as a junction box replacement, having least two electrical cables (4). A case (1) encases the ends (40) of the electrical cables (4). Clamping means (2) is arranged so as to extend around at least part of the case (1) and around the electrical cables (4) and is clamped for mutual strain relief. The invention further relates to a method for installing an assembly as a junction box replacement with the following steps: contacting the electrical conductors (41) by means of electrical terminals (42), inserting the ends (40) of the electrical cables (4) into the case (1) through the clamping means (2), which is not yet clamped, and tightening the clamping means (2) and thus mechanically connecting the protective sheaths (43) of the electrical cables (4) to each other and to the case (1).
Cam lever actuated cable sealing device
The present disclosure relates to a cable sealing device (30) for providing a seal around a communications cable (88, 90). The cable sealing device (30) includes a cable seal arrangement (38) positioned between first and second compression plates (92F, 92R). The cable sealing device (30) also includes an actuator (36) for compressing the first and second compression plates (92F, 92R) together to deform the cable sealing arrangement (38) such that the cable sealing arrangement (38) is adapted to form a seal about a cable (88, 90) routed through the cable sealing device (30). The actuator includes a cam lever (94) pivotally movable between an actuated position (P2) and a non-actuated position (P1). The actuator also includes a spring (98) for transferring load between the cam lever (94) and the first and second compression plates (92F, 92R). The spring (98) is pre-loaded when the cam lever (94) is in the non-actuated position (P1) (FIG. 13) with a pre-load equal to at least 50 percent of a total load applied through the spring (98) when the cam lever 94) is in the actuated position (P2).
