SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR MONITORING AND BALANCING VOLTAGE OF INDIVIDUAL BATTERY CELLS WITHIN A BATTERY PACK
Systems and methods for a scalable battery controller are disclosed. In one example, a circuit board coupled to a battery cell stack is designed to be configurable to monitor and balance battery cells of battery cell stacks that may vary depending on battery pack requirements. Further, the battery pack control module may configure software instructions in response to a voltage at a battery cell stack.
BATTERY HAVING AT LEAST TWO BATTERY CELLS, AND MOTOR VEHICLE
A battery with at least two battery cells, which are connected by at least one electric connection element to one another, and a superordinate control device. Each of the battery cells is provided with at least one galvanic element, a battery cell housing for accommodating the galvanic element, at least one sensor device for detecting a physical and/or chemical feature of the battery cell, and a communication device for communicating with the superordinate device. The superordinate device is adapted to control an energy flow in at least one of the battery cells and/or from at least one of the battery cells as a function of the physical and/or chemical features of the battery cell. The invention further also relates to a motor vehicle with such a battery.
Battery pack and electrical apparatus using battery pack
A battery pack which has cell units in which top-side and bottom-side battery cells are connected in series, and is capable of switching the connection state of the cell units, wherein a control unit monitors voltage imbalances between the plurality of cell units, and also monitors whether or not a cell unit contact failure has occurred. In order to stop a charging/discharging when a contact failure occurs, a signal (abnormality stoppage signal or charging stoppage signal) for stopping discharge is produced and outputted to the electrical device body-side.
Systems and methods for individual control of a plurality of battery cells
A battery control system includes a plurality of battery cells that are separately controllable as units of individual cells or groups of cells. Each controllable unit may be switchably activated or deactivated in the overall battery circuit, and one or more conditions of each controllable unit may be individually measured. Various techniques are disclosed for operating the battery control system to optimize or improve system performance and longevity.
Battery pack for battery electric vehicle
Connection and control concepts for battery packs in a high voltage battery assembly are provided. Parallel, modular configurations permit improved safety, voltage balancing, and redundancy, improving operation and reliability of an associated high voltage electrical vehicle such as a heavy-duty truck.
USER-SCALABLE POWER UNIT INCLUDING REMOVABLE BATTERY PACKS
A riding lawn mower comprising, a pair of rear drive wheels, a pair of front wheels, a deck positioned between the pair of front wheels and the pair of rear drive wheels, a rotatable cutting blade, and multiple battery packs removably coupled to the riding lawn mower and structured to provide power to the riding lawn mower, each battery pack graspable and removable by a user, wherein the multiple battery packs sequentially provide power to the riding lawn mower.
BATTERY AND MOTOR SYSTEM FOR REPLACING INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE
A battery-powered motor may include an electric motor, a controller, and a housing. The electric motor may be wound to enable the battery-powered motor to achieve a non-limited motor maximum motor revolutions per minute (RPM) for at least one specified battery. The controlling current may include limiting current to the electric motor at lower RPMs, and limiting the current to prevent the RPM of the electric motor from exceeding a limited maximum motor RPM which is lower than the non-limited motor maximum RPM. The housing may enclose the electric motor and the controller and the specified battery. The housing may have a form factor to engage with a machine that engages with an internal combustion engine that has a maximum engine RPM that is approximately the same as the limited maximum motor RPM.
ELECTRICITY STORAGE DEVICE AND ELECTRICITY STORAGE METHOD
An electricity storage device includes a plurality of cell batteries C.sub.1 to C.sub.M serially connected; and a management module including a balance circuit that can selectively cause electricity to be discharged from each of the plurality of cell batteries, and a controller. The controller includes a current-voltage acquiring unit that acquires a charging current and the respective voltages of the plurality of cell batteries and a balance control unit that, if a determination condition and an execution condition are satisfied, determines a lowest-voltage cell battery having a lowest voltage among the plurality of cell batteries and controls the balance circuit such that electricity is discharged from the plurality of cell batteries other than the lowest-voltage cell battery for time periods in accordance with differences between the lowest voltage and the respective voltages of the cell batteries when the determination condition and the execution condition are satisfied.
