Variable torque electric motor assembly
An electric motor assembly includes a primary electric motor including a primary rotor assembly and a primary stator assembly configured to be actuated to cause the primary rotor assembly to rotate based on an amount of magnetic flux in the rotor assembly. The assembly also includes a secondary electric motor including a secondary rotor assembly and a secondary stator assembly and a controllable magnetic device coupled to at least one of the primary rotor assembly and the secondary rotor assembly. The assembly also includes a controller configured to actuate the secondary electric motor based on a failure of the primary electric motor, and apply electric current to the controllable magnetic device to reduce back electromotive force (BEMF) caused by rotation of the primary rotor assembly during actuation of the secondary electric motor.
Stator device for a linear motor, linear drive system, and method for operating a stator device
A linear motor comprises a stator, the stator comprising multiple drive coils and an intermediate circuit electrically conductively connected to each drive coil, the intermediate circuit being configured to exchange energy with each drive coil. The drive coils are arranged along the running rail, where at least one slide comprising a magnet acting as a rotor of the linear motor is movably arranged on the running rail. A controller is configured to independently control each drive coil, so that electrical energy is fed from the intermediate circuit into the drive coils, if a measured intermediate circuit voltage is greater or equal to a predetermined intermediate circuit voltage threshold value, where those drive coils are excluded from the feed-in of the electrical energy which are instantaneously being used for driving or braking the at least one slide and/or have a thermal load which exceeds a predetermined thermal load threshold value.
ELECTRICAL MACHINE DISCONNECTION SYSTEMS
A hybrid drive system can include a shaft, an electrical machine comprising a rotor and a stator, and a mechanical disconnect system connecting the rotor to the shaft. The mechanical disconnect system is configured to mechanically connect the rotor to the shaft in a first state and to mechanically disconnect the rotor from the shaft in a second state such that rotor does not drive the shaft or such that the rotor is not driven by the shaft. The rotor can be a permanent magnet rotor, for example.
Guided multi-bar linkage electric drive system
An electric drive system including: a rotary motor system including a hub assembly, a first rotating assembly, a second rotating assembly, and a third rotating assembly, wherein the hub assembly defines a rotational axis about which the first rotating assembly, the second rotating assembly, and the third rotating assembly are coaxially aligned and are capable of independent rotational movement independent of each other; a mechanical guide system supporting the hub assembly and constraining movement of the hub assembly so that the rotational axis of the hub assembly moves along a defined path that is in a transverse direction relative to the rotational axis; and a multi-bar linkage mechanism connecting to each of the first and third rotating assemblies and connecting the hub assembly to the mechanical guide system, wherein the multi-bar linkage mechanism causes the rotational axis of the hub assembly to translate along the defined path in response to relative rotation of the first rotating assembly and third rotating assembly with respect to each other.
ELECTRIC MOTOR AND AN ELEVATOR SYSTEM
An electric motor and an elevator system. The electric motor includes: a casing; a stator supported by the casing, the stator including a stator yoke and stator teeth, and a winding being wound around the stator teeth and generating a magnetic field when energized; and a rotor which rotates under the action of the magnetic field; wherein at least a portion of the stator yoke is formed as a moving plate which is movable between a first position and a second position; and when the winding is energized, the moving plate is capable of moving from the first position to the second position under the action of the magnetic field, and in the second position, the moving plate is separated from the rotor; and after the winding is de-energized, the moving plate is moved from the second position to the first position under the action of a spring force.
