Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a first device (310) may receive multiple reference signals (RSs) from a second device (320) via a plurality of passive devices (410,420), where each RS of the multiple RSs is forwarded individually by one of the plurality of passive devices with a first set of reflection configurations (Slot 502, Slot 504). The first device may receive an additional RS from the second device via the plurality of passive devices, where the additional RS is forwarded jointly by all of the plurality of passive devices with a second set of reflection configurations (Slot 506). The first device may determine information from the plurality of passive devices based on the multiple RSs and the additional RS, where the information is represented by a change between the first set of reflection configurations and the second set of reflection configurations. Numerous other aspects are described.

DOWNLINK CONTROL INFORMATION FOR RECONFIGURABLE INTELLIGENT SURFACE BEAM TRAINING

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive, from a base station, downlink control information (DCI) associated with a reconfigurable intelligence surface (RIS) beam training, wherein the DCI configures an RIS controller and the UE for the RIS beam training. The UE may transmit, to the base station, a report based at least in part on the DCI associated with the RIS beam training. Numerous other aspects are described.

SYNCHRONIZATION BEAM SWEEPING WITH CONTROLLABLE REFLECTIVE SURFACES IN PRESENCE OF MULTIPLE OPERATORS

Aspects of the disclosure relate to beam sweeping with controllable reflective surfaces in the presence of co-located base stations of different network operators. A first base station that is co-located at a site with a second base station may perform a first beam sweep. The first beam sweep includes transmitting a plurality of directional beams. The first base station further transmits a control signal to a controllable reflective surface to control the controllable reflective surface to reduce a likelihood of a redirection of a directional beam of a potential second beam sweep by the second base station towards a user equipment associated with the second base station. Other aspects, embodiments, and features are also claimed and described.

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a controller of a reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS) may receive a signal including a plurality of demodulation reference signals (DMRSs). The controller of the RIS may configure a set of reflective elements of the RIS such that a first DMRS of the plurality of DMRSs is reflected using a first beamformer and a second DMRS of the plurality of DMRSs is reflected using a second beamformer different than the first beamformer. Numerous other aspects are described.

METHOD TO MODULATE SIGNALS BY REFLECTING SURFACES
20240187872 · 2024-06-06 · ·

This document generally relates to use of intelligent reflecting devices in wireless communication systems, which may increase the coverage for a wireless access node or base station. An intelligent reflecting device may configure its surface with a degree of reflection according to a reflection scheme, and in turn, the surface may reflect an incident signal according to the reflection scheme. As a result, the reflected signal may have one or more characteristics that indicate to a receiving device that the received signal was reflected by an intelligent reflecting device, and/or one or more characteristics of the intelligent reflecting device.

MANAGING CONFLICTING CONFIGURATIONS FOR CONFIGURING A REFLECTIVE SURFACE
20240187042 · 2024-06-06 ·

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A surface used to reflect radio frequency signals may receive requests from multiple devices to configure a set of reflection coefficients. Each request may include a set of reflection coefficients and an indication of a priority level of communications associated with the set of reflection coefficients. A set of reflection coefficients included in a message transmitted from a device may be based on a position of another device relative to the device and the surface. The surface may configure a set of reflection coefficients based on the priority levels associated with the sets of reflection coefficients received in the requests.
