INITIATING UWB COMMUNICATION BETWEEN VEHICLE SYSTEM AND PORTABLE IDENTIFIER
A method for using a vehicle system that has stored a portable identifier is proposed. The system and the identifier are configured to communicate using a UWB communication protocol within a first perimeter around the vehicle and to communicate using a BLE communication protocol within a second perimeter that includes the first perimeter. The method comprises, while a user carrying the identifier is approaching the vehicle, detecting that the identifier is located within the second perimeter and performing two distance measurements between the user and the vehicle. The method then comprises determining a speed of the user and predicting a time remaining for the user to reach a predetermined near distance from the vehicle. After the predicted remaining time has elapsed, the method comprises initiating a communication using the UWB communication protocol. The method provides for improved use of the portable identifier.
Devices and methods for selecting antennae for UWB ranging
Disclosed are methods and devices for, UWB, ranging of a target using a plurality of antenna arrays. The method comprises: determining a first RSSI, from a first antenna of a first antenna arrays, and a second RSSI from a second antenna of a second antenna arrays; in response to the first RSSI being larger than the second RSSI, selecting the first antenna array, and selecting the second antenna array otherwise; using the selected antenna array, performing a UWB ranging measurement including measuring an angle of arrival of the signal from the target; including, if the angle of arrival of the signal from the target is out of range: selecting a different one of the plurality of antennae arrays, as a presently-selected antenna array; and, using that antenna array, performing a UWB ranging measurement including measuring an angle of arrival of the signal from the target.
UWB anchor device for vehicle, UWB communication system for vehicle and method for adjusting receiving window of UWB anchor device
A method for an ultra-wide band (UWB) anchor device for adjusting a receiving window for waiting to receive a message transmitted from a user terminal to perform UWB ranging. The method includes setting a length of the receiving window to an initial value, counting a number of reception failures of the message until the message is received, and performing the UWB ranging based on the length of the receiving window being set to the initial value or adjusting the initial value, based on the number of reception failures.
RANGING WITH SIMULTANEOUS FRAMES
Embodiments of a device for wireless communication are disclosed. In some embodiments, the device includes: a transceiver configured to receive a message from a second device and at least one processor. The processor is communicatively coupled to the transceiver and is configured to: generate a response message includes a SYNC portion, a start frame delimiter (SFD) portion, and a cipher portion. The SYNC portion includes a sequence of symbols forming a preamble. The cipher portion includes a ciphered sequence of pseudo-randomized pulses. The transceiver is further configured to transmit the response message.
COEXISTENCE OF UWB AND OTHER TRANSMISSIONS
A method of scheduling a UWB (Ultra-Wideband) ranging session includes: obtaining a first signal transmission schedule of first available signal transmission times of first wireless signals; and transmitting, from a first UWB device to a second UWB device, a ranging control message indicating a second signal transmission schedule including second available signal transmission times for second wireless signals that comprise UWB signals, wherein the second available signal transmission times are based on the first available signal transmission times.
UWB system
According to an aspect of the present invention, there is provided an ultra-wideband (UWB) system comprising: a memory in which a UWB ranging factor definition program is embedded; and a processor which executes the program, wherein the processor predefines UWB ranging factors to define a nonce in consideration of a unique key characteristic of an individual device.
Method for activating a vehicle function and associated activation device
A method for activating a vehicle function, by an activation device including a transceiver to communicate with hands-free access equipment. The transceiver is equipped with a gyroscope and a magnetometer and two receiving antennas that have a coefficient of electromagnetic coupling between them that is below a threshold. The method includes the following steps for at least two consecutive footsteps: transmission of a signal comprising data of the gyroscope and the magnetometer of the hands-free equipment to the vehicle; comparison of the data with representative values of the gyroscope and the magnetometer of the transceiver; determination of a first direction of the user; determination of a second direction of the user based on an estimation of a first angle of arrival of the signal towards the transceiver; comparison of the first direction and the second direction; activation of the vehicle function on the basis of the result of the comparison.
DYNAMIC SCHEDULING METHOD AND DEVICE FOR ULTRA WIDEBAND COMMUNICATION
An operating method of a first ultra wide band (UWB) device, according to various embodiments of the present disclosure, comprises the steps of: receiving, from a second UWB device, a beacon message including configuration information about a superframe through which a plurality of UWB devices communicate; confirming a hybrid period (HP) and a ranging-only period (ROP) in the superframe on the basis of the configuration information; and communicating with a third UWB device on the basis of the HP and the ROP.
Method and apparatus for determining device pointed to by user equipment
A method and apparatus for determining a device pointed to by a UE is provided. The method includes determining UE pointing information based on spatial information of UWB devices; and determining a target non-UWB device pointed to by the UE based on the UE pointing information and spatial information of at least one non-UWB device.
