Methods and systems are disclosed maintaining playback of content at a target or desired playback time. A playback device may be configured to compare a current playback time of a content asset to a target playback time of the content asset and to determine, for each comparison, whether a difference between the current playback time and the target playback time has reached a threshold. Based on determining that the difference between the current playback time and the target playback time has reached a threshold, the playback device may seek to the target playback time of the content asset. The playback device may be configured to repeatedly perform the comparing, determining and seeking operations in order to maintain the current playback time of the content within the threshold of the target playback time.

Method for determining a temporal reference and/or at least one spatial reference in a communication system

For determining a temporal reference and/or at least one spatial reference, in a communication system comprising a plurality of gathering gateways configured to transmit beacons, a device performs for each beacon: obtaining (502) therefrom information on current geolocation of the gathering gateway that transmitted said beacon; obtaining (503) therefrom information representing a communication technology used for determining said current geolocation; and obtaining (504) therefrom information indicating whether said current geolocation was determined by internal means or by external means. The device then uses (509) the information thus obtained for determining the temporal reference for synchronizing in time and frequency said device and/or the spatial reference or references for determining the geolocation of said device.

LINK ESTABLISHMENT BETWEEN A RADIO EQUIPMENT CONTROLLER (REC) AND RADIO EQUIPMENT (RE) IN A FRONTHAUL NETWORK

In vehicular communication networks, reliable delivery of safety messages is crucial and any transmission collision is to be avoided. A method based on time division multiple access scheme is described. An extra layer is provided to manage and schedule transmission of safety messages. The extra, message broadcasting handling layer (MBH layer) is provided between safety applications and medium access control (MAC) layer. Safety messages generated and received from safety application is spooled in the MBH layer and scheduled by the MBH layer for delivery to the MAC layer for broadcasting. A device to implement the method is also described.

METHOD FOR PILOTING FROM BYPASS IN A NETWORK BASED ON SATELLITE LOAD PLATFORM

A method for piloting from bypass in a network based on a satellite load platform can unify the influence of distance change and Doppler frequency shift of satellite ground stations in the whole network, and realize accurate quasi synchronization between the clock of the whole network and the clock of the satellite. The method includes transmitting a pilot signal from bypass based on a satellite load platform in a satellite communication system, taking a spaceborne high stability timing clock source as a reference, and transmitting the pilot signal to all downlink beams to provide the pilot signal for all satellite stations covered by the satellite.

LINK ESTABLISHMENT BETWEEN A RADIO EQUIPMENT CONTROLLER (REC) AND RADIO EQUIPMENT (RE) IN A FRONTHAUL NETWORK

Techniques that provide link establishment between a radio equipment controller (REC) and a radio equipment (RE) in a fronthaul network are described herein. In one embodiment, a method includes performing, Common Public Radio Interface (CPRI) Layer 1 (L1) link auto-negotiation operations to establish a CPRI link between the REC and RE. A proxy slave may achieve a hyper frame number (HFN) synchronization with the REC at a link bit rate for a first CPRI bit stream and communicate the first CPRI bit stream and the link bit rate to a proxy master.
