METHOD AND DEVICE FOR ADAPTIVE STREAMING OF MULTIMEDIA DATA
The present disclosure discloses a method and a media device for adaptive streaming of multimedia data. The method comprises receiving, by a media device, a request for streaming a multimedia data, where the multimedia data is divided into a plurality of data packets, identifying one or more network interfaces available in the media device, allocating one or more data packets from the plurality of data packets, to the one or more network interfaces and requesting the one or more data packets of the multimedia data over the allocated one or more interfaces, for adaptively streaming the multimedia data on the media device.
Next generation broadcast system and method
In a next generation broadcast architecture, a broadcast gateway may send segments of a data file to a broadcast transmission system and to a server. The broadcast transmission system wirelessly transmits the segments to a user equipment (UE) device. When the UE device fails to decode a segment, it sends a request for re-transmission of the segment to the server via an IP network. The server re-transmits the requested segment to the UE device via the IP network. Furthermore, the gateway may receive one or more IP data flows (e.g., video streams) having variable bit rate. The gateway may apply dynamically-variable coding to the IP data flows so that the resulting coded IP data flows have an aggregate bit rate that matches a constant physical transport rate of the broadcast transmission system.
SURVIVAL TIME STATE TRIGGERING AND FALLBACK FOR DUPLICATION WITH DUAL-CONNECTIVITY
An apparatus and a method for a wireless communication system is provided, wherein, a number of medium access control entities associated with at least one active radio link control entity of a radio bearer is determined; at least one condition for switching a state associated with the radio bearer based, at least partially, on the determined number of medium access control entities is determined; determining that the determined at least one condition for switching the state associated with the radio bearer is satisfied; and switching the state associated with the radio bearer from a first state to a second state based, at least partially, on determining that the at least one condition for switching the state associated with the radio bearer is satisfied.
OPTIMIZED ACM TRAJECTORY SYSTEMS AND METHODS
Systems and methods for ACM trajectory include receiving data at a communications receiver; decoding the received data based on a selected MODCOD; monitoring a number of iterations used to decode the data using the selected MODCOD; comparing the number of iterations used to decode the data using the first selected MODCOD to a reference number of iterations; and adjusting a SNR threshold value for the selected MODCOD where the number of iterations used to decode the data using the first selected MODCOD is greater than the reference number of iterations.
MULTICAST CHANNEL CONTROL INFORMATION
The present disclosure relates to a technique for configuring transmission of a multicast channel carrying scheduling information and data belonging to one or more multicast services, the scheduling information indicating scheduling of the multicast services mapped to the multicast channel. A method embodiment comprises the steps of configuring (404) the transmission of the scheduling information on the multicast channel based on a scheduling information specific transmission requirement and configuring (404) the transmission of the data belonging to the one or more multicast services based on a service specific transmission requirement; and signalling (406) the scheduling information specific transmission requirement and the service specific transmission requirement.
Systems and methods for transmitting data
A system and method for transmitting data over a channel, in which the data are categorized in at least two different categories. For example, the data are categorized according to the effect on perceived degradation on the data when error mitigation is performed on the data. Corrupted data of the first category are replaced using a first replacement method, such as retransmission and forward error correction. The corrupted data of the second category are replaced using a second replacement method different from the first replacement method, e.g., error mitigation or interpolation.
Time-reversal technologies for hybrid wireless networks
Transmitters and receivers for use in hybrid networks capable of supporting time-reversal division multi-access communication protocols are described. Wireless access points include a wireless receiver for receiving a wireless channel probe signal from a device and a wireless transmitter capable of supporting a time-reversal division multi-access (TRDMA) protocol and at least one other wireless communication protocol. A controller is used to control the operation of the wireless transmitter. Wireless terminal devices include a wireless transmitter for transmitting a wireless channel probe signal and a wireless receiver capable of supporting a TRDMA protocol and at least one other wireless communication protocol. A controller is used to control the operation of the wireless receiver. An example of the at least one other wireless communication protocol that may be supported is OFDMA. Network performance can be improved by using wireless access points and terminal devices that switch between supporting one wireless communication protocol or another or supporting multiple wireless communication protocols simultaneously.
System and method for multi-user full duplex link adaptation
A method of link adaptation is described including establishing, using a first serving point, a multi-user full duplex mode wherein the multi-user full duplex mode enables a downlink to a first wireless device and an uplink from a second wireless device. The first serving point requests from the first wireless device a first channel quality indicator indicating channel quality between the serving point and the first wireless device in a full duplex time period and a second channel quality indicator indicating channel quality between the serving point and the first wireless device in non-full duplex time period. The full duplex mode is evaluated using the first and second channel quality indicators. At least one parameter of the full duplex mode is adjusted based on the evaluating.
Systems and methods for pre-FEC metrics and reception reports
Methods, systems and devices are provided for receiving, at a receiver device, a data block or file containing a plurality of application symbols, determining the number of application symbols received in the block, generating a metric based on the number of application symbols received in the block, and transmitting the metric to a server. The metric may further be generated based on a number of application symbols that were required to recover the block or file. The server may use the metric received from one or more receiver devices to adjust the transmission settings for additional data transmissions.
