COMMUNICATION CONTROL APPARATUS, COMMUNICATION CONTROL METHOD, AND PROGRAM
There is provided a communication control apparatus including an acquisition section configured to acquire first information related to communication quality of a wireless channel through which target data to be distributed to a terminal apparatus is transmitted to the terminal apparatus, and second information related to data among the target data, the data being accumulated in the terminal apparatus, and a control section configured to perform control over transmission of the target data to the terminal apparatus on the basis of the first information and the second information.
SUPPORT FOR MULTIPLE CODING SCHEMES
A method of wireless communication of a user equipment (UE) includes communicating with a base station using a baseline channel code. The baseline code may include a tail-biting convolutional code (TBCC), or turbo code (TC). The method also includes sending information to the base station indicating a capability of the UE to support multiple channel codes. The method further includes receiving, from the base station, a configuration to operate with any one of the channel codes.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR PREDICTIVE LINK PLANNING
A system and method for predictive adaptive coding and modulation (ACM) is disclosed. Predictive ACM is used between a transmitting terminal that is in motion and a stationary receiving terminal without a return link between the terminals where the geometry and link impairments are known in advance. A system and method for predictive ACM in a system including one or more relay terminals between the transmitting and receiving terminals, where the geometry and link impairments between all of the terminals are known in advance is also disclosed.
SYSTEM FOR TRANSMITTING DATA PACKETS ACCORDING TO A MULTIPLE ACCESS PROTOCOL
A system for transmitting data packets includes at least one access point and at least one terminal. The access point receives data packets transmitted by the terminal in compliance with a multiple access protocol including carrier detection, and transmits to the terminal at least the width of the contention window that the terminal is to observe for transmitting a packet. The transmitted packets are coded using an erasure code and the access point is further adapted to decode the received packets. The system may be applied to networks such as WLANs.
ABR ADJUSTMENT FOR LIVE OTT
There is provided a mechanism for providing Adaptive Bit Rate adjustments of media streams like video for live Over the Top distribution without the need to monitor buffer fill levels, which is advantageous for live video distribution over IP networks. An embodiment of the invention is based on monitoring change in the received bitrate level at a client device, and providing a predicted future bandwidth characteristics of the network based on the change. By monitoring the received bitrate and its rate of change over time, a prediction of (near future) available bandwidth in the network is advantageously provided. A drastic drop of the received bitrate may for instance indicate that the available bandwidth will become too low to sustain a currently received media stream, and the system can accordingly initiate a decision to request a lower video quality.
FILTERING EXTENDED RANGE FRAMES BY HIGH EFFICIENCY WIRELESS (HEW) STATIONS
This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatuses for selectively acquiring communication frames from a transmitting device capable of formatting the communication frames in accordance with a plurality of PHY formats. In some implementations, a STA may filter or discard duplicate frames received from an AP based, at least in part, on a preference of the STA for one of the plurality of PHY formats. The filtering may be performed at the PHY, without forwarding received communication frames to the media access control layer (MAC) for further processing. In some other implementations, an AP may refrain from sending duplicate frames to a STA based, at least in part, on a preferred frame format of the STA. Still further, in some implementations, the STA may dynamically adjust or update its preferred frame format based on changes in the distance, or channel conditions, between the STA and the AP.
Device and method for link adaptation in a wireless network
The disclosure provides a method in a wireless network for link adaptation. The method comprises transmitting a first grant message indicating grant resources for a first link path to a first user equipment, UE; monitoring the grant resources for the first link path to determine whether data is transmitted from the first UE on the first link path; and inhibiting link adaptation for the grant resources for the first link path if no data is transmitted from the first UE on the first link path. The disclosure also provides a network node and a user equipment for link adaptation.
Methods and apparatus for adjusting flow rate of transmissions received by a device
Certain aspects of the present disclosure relate to methods and apparatus for adjusting flow rate of transmissions received at a device. A user equipment (UE) determines, in response to detecting a trigger condition, a proposal to adjust feedback provided to a base station (BS) in order to adjust a flow rate of transmissions received at the UE from the BS. The UE adjusts the feedback based on the proposal and at least one additional condition and transmits the adjusted feedback to the BS.
MODULATION AND CODING SCHEME TABLE CHANGE BASED ON CONSTELLATION AND CODE RATE
In an aspect, a UE may transmit a first indication that the UE supports a capability to reduce power consumption associated with a constellation and code rate of at least a demodulator of the UE. The UE may receive, based on the first indication, a second indication to utilize a modulation and coding set (MCS) table from a plurality of MCS tables. The UE may receive data from a network node based on the MCS table.
