Broadcast transmission by relay node

A donor communication station transmits a unicast transmission comprising a plurality of device data sets where each device data set directed to each of a plurality of user equipment (UE) devices. A relay node receives the unicast transmission and retransmits the data sets in a broadcast transmission over a broadcast communication channel to the plurality of UE devices. In one example, the donor communication station encodes data for multiple user equipment (UE) devices by applying broadcast encoding to the data for each device before applying outer encoding to the data. The dual encoded data is transmitted to the relay node over a dedicated channel. The relay node applies outer decoding to the dual encoded data to retrieve the broadcast encoded data. The relay node then transmits the broadcast encoded device data in a broadcast transmission without outer encoding.

Methods and apparatuses are disclosed herein for ascertaining reliability aspects for Device-to-Device (D2D) links prior to actual data transmission. In some embodiments, a method performed by a second Wireless Communication Device (WCD) comprises attempting to receive synthetic packet transmissions, each comprising R replicas of a respective synthetic packet, from a first WCD over a direct or indirect D2D link using a current resource allocation. The method further comprises determining that the D2D link violates a requirement based on results of the attempting to receive the synthetic packet transmissions and sending a violation notification to a Centralized Scheduler (CS). Corresponding embodiments of a second WCD are also disclosed. Embodiments of a method of operation of a first WCD and corresponding embodiments of the first WCD as well as embodiments of a method of operation of a CS and corresponding embodiments of the CS are also described herein.

Communication devices and methods for multi-link block acknowledgement are provided. One exemplary embodiment provides a multi-link device (MLD) configured to operate with a first plurality of affiliated stations, the first multi-link device comprising: circuitry, which in operation, initiates setup of a block acknowledgement agreement with a second multi-link device that is configured to operate with a second plurality of affiliated stations, wherein a link has been established between each station of the first plurality of stations and a corresponding station of the second plurality of stations; and a transmitter, which in operation, transmits frames of a Traffic Identifier (TID) on one or more links to the second multi-link device based on the block acknowledgement agreement, wherein the first plurality of stations are configured to share a common transmit buffer that stores the frames of the TID to be transmitted to the second multi-link device and a common transmit buffer control to manage the transmission of the frames over the one or more links, and wherein each of the first plurality of stations is configured to maintain a per-link transmit buffer control to manage the transmission of the frames on a corresponding one of the one or more links.

Dynamic hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) codebook for multi-transmit receive point (TRP) communication

This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatus for wireless communication. In one aspect, a multi-transmit-receive point (TRP) approach for hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) acknowledgment (ACK) feedback using counter downlink assignment indicators (DAIs) (cDAIs) and total DAIs (tDAIs) is provided. For example, some techniques and apparatuses described herein may provide a joint counting method in which cDAIs and tDAIs are implemented and tracked jointly between the TRPs of a multi-TRP group. This may be useful in the ideal backhaul scenario when the multi-TRP group is jointly scheduled, and may be more robust against errors than a separate counting method. Some techniques and apparatuses described herein may provide a separate counting method, in which cDAIs and tDAIs are implemented and tracked separately by the respective TRPs of a multi-TRP group.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS TO REDUCE NETWORK ACCESS LATENCY AND IMPROVE QUALITY OF SERVICE IN WIRELESS COMMUNICATION
20230010010 · 2023-01-12 · ·

In a grant based system, a user equipment (UE) sends data in an uplink in a request-grant process. The UE first sending a scheduling request, a gNodeB processing the request and scheduling a grant sometime in future, then UE then either sending data if the grant is sufficient or requesting for another grant with more capacity to accommodate data sending. Such a proceeding could cause serious latency in network access. Described in the present patent disclosure are embodiments to reduce the access time by giving proactive grants through inspecting downlink (DL) data sent to the UE or uplink data being transmitted from the UE. The uplink data may be predictive since it maybe in lieu of requirement for sending a TCP acknowledgement for the DL TCP data scheduled earlier. For voice calls, a ML system for system may be deployed to predict when proactive UL grants may be given.

Uplink channel resource indication method, uplink channel resource determination method, base station, terminal and medium

An uplink channel resource indication method, an uplink channel resource determination method, a base station, a terminal and a medium are pr. The uplink channel resource indication method includes: indicating frequency domain resource information corresponding to N subbands contained in a current carrier to a UE through high-layer signaling, where N>1; and indicating one or more subbands for uplink data transmission to the UE through downlink control information, so that the UE uses a frequency domain resource corresponding to the one or more subbands for uplink data transmission to transmit uplink data based on frequency domain resource information corresponding to the one or more subbands for uplink data transmission. Resource utilization and performance of a NR network may be improved.

Dynamic indication of physical downlink control channel monitoring location

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment may receive an indication identifying a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) monitoring location associated with receiving a next downlink control information (DCI) communication. The user equipment may monitor in the PDCCH monitoring location based at least in part on the indication. The indication may be valid at least until the PDCCH monitoring location, irrespective of an amount of time between receiving the indication and monitoring in the PDCCH monitoring location. Numerous other aspects are provided.

Techniques for cross-carrier retransmission

Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for cross-carrier retransmission. A method that may be performed by a user equipment (UE) includes monitoring for an initial transmission of data from a network on a first entity, generating a negative acknowledgement message indicating that decoding of the initial transmission of the data was unsuccessful, transmitting the negative acknowledgement message, and monitoring for a retransmission of the data on a second entity after the transmission of the negative acknowledgement message, the second entity being different than the first entity.
