Server-based generation of a help map in a video game
Techniques for improving a graphical user interface are described. In an example, a computer system receives event data from a plurality of user devices. Each event data includes an identifier of an activity in a video game, completion data indicating completion of the activity, and location data indicating where the activity was completed in the video game. The identifier can be predefined in program code of the video game. The event data can be received based on an execution of the program code. The event data is processed to determine where the likely location for completing the activity in the video game. This likely location is shown as a graphical user interface element in a map.
ANIMATION DISPLAY METHOD AND APPARATUS, STORAGE MEDIUM, AND ELECTRONIC DEVICE
An animation display method is provided. In the method, a first display area is displayed on a game setting interface of a game application. The first display area is configured to display a first operation flow in the game application. A first picture is displayed in the first display area when the first display area is not selected. The first picture is at least one display picture in the first operation flow. A first animation is played in the first display area when the first display area is selected. The first animation plays at least one group of display pictures in the first operation flow.
Method and apparatus for using a common pointing input to control 3D viewpoint and object targeting
A computer graphics display system such as a video game system provides virtual camera 3-D viewpoint panning control based on a pointer. When the pointer is displayed within a virtual camera panning control region, the system automatically pans the virtual camera toward the pointer. When the pointer is displayed within a different region, panning is deactivated and the user can freely move the cursor (e.g., to control the direction a weapon is pointed) without panning the virtual camera viewpoint. Flexible viewpoint control and other animated features are provided based on a pointing device such as a handheld video game optical pointing control. Useful applications include but are not limited to first person shooter type video games.
Safety scheme for gesture-based game
Technologies are generally described for providing a notification to a player playing a gesture-based game of a potentially dangerous condition. In some examples, a safety component of a gesture-based game system includes a gesture range determination unit configured to determine a gesture range associated with a gesture-based game; a detection unit configured to detect a movement of an object; and an alarm unit configured to generate an alarm in response to a determination based on the movement of the object which is within the gesture range.
Systems and methods for incentivizing user log-in to a user account associated with an online game
User log-in to a user account of an online game may be incentivized by providing awards to the users for logging in. Reengagement time periods for individual ones of the user accounts may be determined. The reengagement time periods may be determined to expire at times when a user may be logged out and/or may be expected to be logged out. By way of non-limiting example, the reengagement time periods may expire during wait periods for ongoing in-game tasks. The awards may be provided based on the expiration of the reengagement time periods and the user accounts conveying satisfaction of award redemption criteria.
ACCESSORY FOR PRESENTING INFORMATION ASSOCIATED WITH AN APPLICATION
A system that incorporates teachings of the present disclosure may include, for example, an accessory having a plurality of tactile-sensitive buttons, a plurality of light sources, wherein each light source emits a controllable spectrum of light through a corresponding one of the plurality of tactile-sensitive buttons, and a controller coupled to the plurality of tactile-sensitive buttons, and the plurality of light sources. The controller can be operable to detect tactile contact of each of the plurality of tactile-sensitive buttons, receive status information associated with a video game, and adjust the spectrum of light emitted by at least a portion of the plurality of light sources according to the status information to indicate one or more aspects of the video game. Additional embodiments are disclosed.
Cognitive training method for semantic skills enhancement
A method for training a semantic ability of a subject, the method being performed by a computer the method comprising: a. Displaying a linguistic task to the subject on a display of the computer, said linguistic task comprising providing one or more words, wherein said linguistic task is directed to training the subject in a specific semantic skill or skills; b. Providing a plurality of linguistic clues to the subject, through the display of the computer, said plurality of linguistic clues comprising content capable of activating concepts related to said one or more words but wherein said content does not include said one or more words or synonyms thereof, wherein said linguistic clues are selected such that the subject integrates said plurality of linguistic clues to solve said linguistic task, wherein said linguistic clue comprises an image, audio, video, text or a combination thereof; c. Receiving a solution to said linguistic task by the subject through the computer; and d. If said solution is not correct, providing one or more additional linguistic clues to the subject, said one or more additional linguistic clues comprising content capable of activating concepts related to said one or more words, wherein the subject integrates said one or more additional linguistic clues with said plurality of linguistic clues to solve said linguistic task, and wherein i) said content does not include said one or more words or synonyms thereof, or ii) if said content does include said one or more words or synonyms thereof, said content does not comprise written text.
COMMUNICATION SYSTEM, METHOD FOR CONTROLLING COMMUNICATION SYSTEM, AND PROGRAM
In a communication system including a server (1) and a plurality of communication terminals (2) capable of communication with the server (1), based on a variety of parameters indicating the status of a space formed within a game playable by the user of each communication terminal (2) over the communication system, the server (1) transmits advisory information (132), which suggests the next action for the space, to the communication terminal (2). The communication terminal (2) displays a screen including the received. advisory information (132).
DATA PROCESSING METHOD IN VIRTUAL SCENE, DEVICE, STORAGE MEDIUM, AND PROGRAM PRODUCT
A data processing method in a virtual scene, a device, a storage medium, and a program product are provided. The method includes receiving an operation instruction, the operation instruction being an instruction triggered by a route drawing operation on a second minimap that is displayed on a second terminal; generating path information of a target virtual object in a virtual scene based on the operation instruction; and transmitting the path information to a first terminal, the first terminal displaying a path trajectory corresponding to the path information on a first minimap that is displayed by the first terminal.
Mitigating collisions in a physical space during gaming
To mitigate collisions in a physical space during gaming, a set of physical objects and a user situated in the 3D space are mapped to determine a spacing between an object in the set of physical objects and the user, where the user moves in the 3D space to cause a motion in a virtual environment of a game. A prediction is computed that the user will make a motion in the 3D space during the gaming. For the motion in the 3D space, a motion trajectory of the user is computed using a measurement parameter corresponding to the user stored in a user profile. A detection is made that the motion trajectory of the user violates a spacing threshold between the user and the object, and the user is alerted about a risk of collision between the user and the object in the 3D space.
